I recently wrote about the quest Acid Wit. One of the enemies inside this quest is called the Acid-scar Hunter. The Acid-scar hunters are the troglodyte rangers/archers in this pack of enemies that you encounter. These particular enemies are spread throughout all of the Acid-scar Caverns. They are basically stationed in the back behind the Acid-scar stalkers and Acid-scar warriors providing cover fire for their melee companions. They also act as cover for dangerous Acid-scar shamans that are also spread throughout the quest.
Like the other troglodytes in this particular quest, they are immune to acid based attacks. On elite, these troglodytes have 1,300 to 1,500 hit points or so. They tend to be susceptible to stunning attack blows and I know I was able to trip them frequently while in winter wolf form. I also found them susceptible to my iced based dot spells.

Throughout the Acid-scar caverns, these enemies are placed in strategic places that allows them to fire upon the party from higher locations. For those that are on the same level as the party, they will retreat to more favorable locations. Also be careful when you trail them during their retreats, they have no problem trying to lead you through dangerous terrain. Like other archers, if they get stuck to close to melee characters they will stop firing their arrows and swing their bows as an attack.
I will have to take another look at the type of damage they cause with their arrows. I don’t think they had any elemental based attack enhancements on their arrows, I just think they were hitting with regular arrows (piercing damage).
Overall, these enemies can be tough and bothersome, especially when they are grouped with their shaman kin. Taking them out or putting them out of the action as soon as you can is a wise idea. So if you run the quest Acid Wit, just keep a sharp eye out for these individuals and be wary of them.
Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!
