What’s the Deal with the Wagon?

Last week, I was taking Wapoyei (Level 23 Cleric/Divine Crusader) into the High Road and I came across one of the rare encounters in there.  As I was taking my makeshift party of hirelings and summons around with me, I came across a farmer whose wagon was being assaulted by a fire reaver.  The rare encounter is called Trader Travels and it consists of Falsifax, the named fire reaver, just decimating the poor farmers wagon of produce.

Notice that Falsifax doesn’t seem to have any interest at all in attacking the farmer, only the wagon.  Why the wagon?  What in the world is in the wagon that has attracted the fire reavers attention?  I can’t really gather too much information from the farmer and he only seems to be screaming that his cabbages are getting damaged and that the fire reaver seems to have stolen a key to his chest.  A chest..hm.  I wonder if that is what the fire reaver is after.  What is in the chest?  We never really find out but that seems to make things a little more sensible to me.  Perhaps that chest contains some type of magical item, maybe even something the poor farmer doesn’t realize he has.

The fire reaver attacking the wagon has to be linked to something a little more realistic than to a hatred of cabbages…or does it ?

Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting in the High Road!!
