Working On Another Week, February 12th and 18th

My quest runs this week included some runs across a mulitude of levels, as well as various outcomes.  To kick the week off, I logged on with Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) and Suppply (Level 11 Paladin) and I took them into The Grey Moon’s Den: The Trollish Scourge.  On the way to the quest, they both collected 11 slayers for Sorrowdusk Isle.  Once I made into the quest I ran into some difficulties while playing Harrgon.  Harrgon was ripped apart five times by various champions.  It really emphasized how under geared he really is and I will need to work on that.  Hopefully I can rebuild my stock of essences and have Erdrique (Level 11 Bard) craft Harrgon some equipment.  In the end, I had to have Suppply bail out Harrgon but I was able to get the quest completed.  They also took out Shaman Herpostaw as well as all of the ogre collaborators.

On Monday, I logged back on with Suppply and Harrgon and took them back out into Sorrowdusk Isle for some slayers while I was also playing my weekly digital table top game.  While hunting in Sorrowdusk Isle, they collected 270 slayers out there.  Harrgon hit his 750 slayer mark and Suppply picked up two monster manual deeds, spider (1,200 experience) and scorpion (1,500 experience) exterminator II.  They also defeated the rare encounters Saate (2), Vermilo (2), Teargon, Kremen, Kurmer, Furley, and Noozer.  Harrgon was also able to finish collecting all rare encounters as well.

I logged on Larrs (Level 21 Bard/Fatesinger) and I took him into the King’s Forest for some slayers.  While out there, he defeated two dire bears, one drow priestess, and came across the random encounters for the Knight’s Plight and Knight’s Collar.  He also picked up a purple dragon knight commendation and 46 slayers.  Shortly after that run, I logged on with Hamllin (Level 20 Fighter/Shadowdancer) and I decided to try The Devil’s Details on heroic elite.  It has been quite a while since I have ventured in here and I was rudely awaken by the onslaught of abishai as I made it further into the quest.  Needless to say I wiped in dramatic fashion.  I will have to try to get my revenge later.  Later that night, I logged on with Kolll (Level 22 Ranger/Shiradi Champion) and I took him into the quest Impossible Demands on epic hard with my new lioness and my onyx panther and owlbear.  Although Kolll suffered a few defeats, he did complete the quest and picked up 16 commendations of valor as a quest reward.  Kolll also picked up seven slayers in the King’s Forest as his way to the quest as well as the random encounter Money and Life.  He completed the optional objectives for saving the hostages, defeating Warleader Speitar and slaying the spider pet Akorstra.  I still had some time left, so I did a quick favor run with Kolll and ran through the Sacred Helm before calling it a night (picked up the Cloven-Jaw Longbow for the effort).

During Wednesday, I logged on with Containment (Level 8 Cleric) and Cannock (Level 8) Druid and I took them into Three Barrel Cove for some daily slayer action.  They collected 186 slayers which included Ilmarin Tychoon, Ithun Orenah, Vitia, Dulse, Dybesh Relix, and Strinati.  Containment also hit the 500 slayer mark and found a few more explorer points.  After that run, I logged on with Erdrique and Sttollen (Level 12 Rogue) and I took them into the Grey Moon’s Den: Extermination.  On the way to the quest, they picked up 11 slayers.  They also completed the optional objective for slaying Blizzard and all of the trolls.  Erdrique also picked up a monster manual deed for ooze exterminator IV (account award) while Sttollen picked up a monster manual deed for human expertise (account award).  That was all I was able to get through on Wednesday as I spent the rest of the night with my wife for our weekly date night.

For Thursday, my single quest run consisted of another dual boxing episode with Charlock (Level 16 Fighter) and Stoorage (Level 15 Fighter) who both ventured into the Red Fens.  While out there, Charlock collected 104 slayers while Stoorage collected 107 slayers (with a minor slayer potion).  They also came across Crooktooth, Kar Xyr, and Nab Ren.

Friday, I kicked things off by dual boxing with Lorrikk (Level 13 Monk) and Stoorage and entered the Red Fens for some slayers.  They both collected 117 slayers and came across Mudfoot, Fencreeper, Kar Xyr, Nab Ben, Sharkbiter, and Gorger.  Lorrikk also picked up a monster manual deed of monstrous plant exterminator (1,100 experience).  Later that night, I logged on with Erdrique and Sttollen and I took them Free Delera on elite.  They completed the optional objective for slaying the soul lock guardians.  Erdrique picked up 26 mysterious remnants while Sttollen picked up 12 mysterious remnants.  I then took Erdrique and Sttollen out into Searing Heights for more slayers.  They picked up 103 slayers and both hit the 750 slayer mark.  They also defeated Guck, Calcine, and Hazai Haatha.  Erdrique also picked up the monster manual deed for wolf exterminator IV and picked up another 3,390 experience.

To close out the week, I logged Erdrique and Sttollen during the mid-afternoon and I took them into the Searing Heights in hope to find their last rare encounter.  After a few attempts I finally came across the last rare encounter for them, Smolder.  They also came across and defeated Giallo and Ghamzee.  In doing this, Erdrique also picked up monster manual deeds for drow exterminator II, fire elemental exterminator II, fire elemental hunter, and fire elemental expertise II.  As a result, Erdrique picked up the fire elemental creature companion 🙂 and he and Sttollen completed the Searing Heights.

Needless to say it was a busier week than the week prior and just as diverse.  Erdrique and Sttollen are now going to finish making their stamp in Sorrowdusk Isle.  We’ll see what the rest of the new week has for me!!  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

The Week in Review, February 5th to 11th

Taking a look back at my quests this week, I realized that it was a lighter than normal week for me.  I didn’t kicked off my quest runs until Monday.  I started out with a slayer run where I took Kanndar (Level 13 Paladin) and Stoorage (Level 15 Fighter) into the Red Fens for some slayers during one of my many dual boxing efforts.  During that run, Kanndar picked up 99 slayers while Stoorage collected 123 (Stoorage was running a minor or a lesser slayer count boost).  They also came across the rare encounters: Kar Xyr, Vyx Ka, and Gorger.  Shortly after that run, I logged on with Hamllin (Level 20 Fighter/Shadowdancer) and I took him into the quest Demon Assault on heroic elite.  In the past, I have had a number of difficulties in here, even at level 20, because of my cleric hireling being just swarmed.  In this run, I actually did complete it however it was pretty rough.  I  suffered eight deaths and had to re-enter twice.  But it is now done!!  I also picked up a monster manual deed for Glaberzou hunter.  To close out the night, I logged on with Crawlller (Level 8 Ranger) and Cannock (Level 8 Druid) and I thought them into Three Barrel Cove for some simple explorers, slayers, and rares because I was also playing our digital table top game.  They both picked up 230 slayers with Crawlller hit his 750 slayer mark.  They came across the rare encounters for Ilmarin Tychonn, Ithun Orenah, Vitia,  Thrum, Brine, Dulse, and Strinati.  Cannock looted the Sky Pirate’s Dagger during that run.  I called it a night after that.

I logged on Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) and Suppply (Level 11 Paladin) and I took them hunting into Sorrowdusk Isle.  They collected 116 slayers and Harrgon picked up the rest of the explorer points.  They also came across Barxer and Saate.  After than run, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 11 Bard) and Sttollen (Level 12 Rogue) and I took them into Tangleroot Gorge and completed the Assault on Splinterskull story arc by completing The Last Move: The Way to Yarkuch and The Last Move: Yarkuch’s Last Stand.  I completed the optional objective for slaying Warmaster Muurj.  To close out the night, I logged with Larrs (Level 21 Bard/Fatesinger) and I took him into Tomb of the Wizard King on epic normal.  Larrs picked up a monster manual deed for clay golum hunter (2,350 experience) and he also picked up scrolls for the Mummy Wrappings and Dustless Boots.  He also collected 52 fragments of the Token of the Twelve and received 11 commendations of valor as a quest reward.  He also completed the optional objectives for slaying all of the guardians, the eternal gatekeepers, and breaking into the vault.

I didn’t log into game again until Thursday when I dual boxed with Cantlin (Level 13 Sorcerer) and Stoorage and took them into the Red Fens for some slayers.  Cantlin picked up a monster manual deed for sahaugin exterminator (353 experience) and hit the 100 slayer mark.  Cantlin picked up 61 slayers while Stoorage received 76.  They also came across Sharkbiter, Beacon, and Riptide.  I then logged on with Erdrique and Sttollen and dual boxed again and took them through The Grey Moon’s Den: The Trollish Scourge.  They collected nine slayers on the way to the quest and Erdrique picked up two monster manual deeds: troll exterminator I (423 experience) and troll hunter (2,034 experience).  They also collected the optional objectives for defeating all of the ogre collaborators and Shaman Herpostaw.  I didn’t get a chance to log in that night and didn’t log back in until Saturday.

On Saturday, I spent quite a bit of time working on some Cannith Crafting with Erdrique.  By the time I was done, I only had enough time to run one quest.  So I logged on Sttollen as well and took them both into Gwylan’s Stand on elite.  They made it through the quest without any issues but they only picked up one optional named monster: Maneater.  Sttollen did pick up the Roguebane Breastplate and they both picked up Gwylan’s Blade.

So overall it was a lighter week but the spread of quest runs was nice.  Had some runs through a few explorer areas, an epic quest run, and some more quests for Hammy and Erdrique.  Now time to move onto next week :)!!!  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Completing A Saga and Another Story Arc

One of the things I enjoy doing is trying to get back into the swing of things after a relatively long vacation and trying to remember how to make my way back through my favorite game, DDO :).  I recently just came back from spending about a week or so in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Sevierville, Tennessee with immediate and extended family.  We had a blast while we were out there but at the same time I was separated from my desktop computer and couldn’t log into DDO.

We made it back home on Saturday and I logged in with Erdrique (Level 30 Rogue/Shadowdancer) later that night and spent a good amount of time just catching up on character maintenance and then trying the quest The Thrill of the Hunt on epic hard but unfortunately came up short on completing it.  Not only was this particular quest one of the lesser known quests for me, I also needed to catch back up to speed with the mechanics of the game.

Things turned out much better on Sunday.  I dual boxed with Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) and Suppply (Level 10 Paladin) and they were working cooperatively through the Sentinels of Stormreach Story Arc.  The last quest I needed was The Tide Turns.  I took them both into the quest to take on Captain Tew and his Blood Tide Pirates on elite.  I primarily moved through the quest with Suppply as he was the one I was scheduled to play originally.  This particular quest I know fairly well and its outcome was much better than I had occurred on Saturday night.

Suppply looking at his rewards for the Sentinels of Stormreach Story arc.

Harrgon also taking a look at his reward list for the Sentinels of Stormreach chain.

I was able to progress both Suppply and Harrgon through the Tide Turns, with some minor deathers in the traps, and was able to complete the Sentinel Story Arc with both characters.  I also had another little bonus with Harrgon.  He had also already completed all of the Three Barrel Cove quests that are part of the The Pirates of the Thunder Sea (Heroic) saga.  In fact, the only quest Harrgon didn’t have credit for was Irestone Inlet but that was because he had that quest completed well before that saga was developed.  So I went ahead and used my VIP ability to skip that quest to get the elite saga award for Harrgon.  I wound up picking up the guild renown and received a nice chunk of 51,000 renown for the Crypt Crawlers.  Nice indeed!!

So it was good to be able to complete a story arc with two characters at once and for one of those characters to pick up his first saga award.  I’m looking forward to doing this more in the future!!  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting down those pirates!!

Another Lite Week, Review of Questing March 21 to March 24

Well after having an abnormal weekend, I turned around with abnormal week and it impacted my questing activities for DDO.  During this particular week, I had to travel to Raleigh for some management training for work and on Thursday my wife had some major neck surgery so needless to say I didn’t log in that day at all.

I did kick the week off with a morning slayer run and taking the opportunity to do some dual boxing with Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) from my VIP account and Suppply (Level 10 Paladin) from my premium account through the Searing Heights.  Suppply had already maxed the area out but Harrgon gained another 34 slayers and they took out Shute Ruggzen.  And that was the only run I was able to complete on Monday as I prepped and took off for Raleigh as soon as I got home from work Monday afternoon.

Harrgon and Suppply making their way through Searing Heights.

On Tuesday, I had another dual boxing session for my morning slayer run (yes I took my computer with me to Raleigh 🙂 ).  This time I took Cantlin (Level 13 Sorcerer) and Stoorage (Level 14 Fighter) into Sorrowdusk Isle.  Stoorage has this area complete but I was still able to get him some loot and a little bit of experience.  Cantlin picked up only 10 slayers out there during this run but he also took out the ogre commander, Barxer.  That afternoon/night, after my training class, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 28 Rogue/Grandmaster of Flowers) and I took him into Thorn and Paw on epic hard.  I wound up defeating 9 dire bears but in that process one of them was a champion and happened to stomp all over me.  After I got back up, I finished quest and completed the optional objective for killing all of the druids.  I didn’t complete the optional objective to find all of the spore seeds  though as I was still missing one :(.  I collected four mysterious remnants and picked up 24 Commendations of Valor as a quest reward.  I then headed out to complete the Druid’s Curse on epic hard.  I defeated eight wood woads during this run as well as the optional objective for defeating the drow party.  Again, I picked up four mysterious remnants and 24 Commendations of Valor as a quest reward.  As a result of finishing the Druid’s Curse I also completed the story arc for the Druid’s Deep where I picked up the Forester’s Brush Hook as a reward.  I called it a night after that run.

Erd coming across some Vine Horrors in Thorn and Paw.

Erdrique making his way deeping into Druid’s Deep.

On Wednesday, the only thing I was to get in was a slayer run with Larrs (Level 21 Bard/Fatesinger).  I took Larrs out into the The King’s Forest where he collected another 20 slayers and completed the random encounter to bolster the lines.  After that, I had to pack up and head out for the final class session for the management training and to get ready to head back home from Raleigh.  Wednesday night is also my weekly date night with my wife and because she was having some major surgery the next day we decided to go out after I got home with some friends for dinner and then to relax for the rest of the night.

I didn’t log in at all on Thursday.  I took my wife first thing in the early morning to the hospital for her surgery and we spent the rest of the day there as she recovered.  Luckily everything turned out fine and she is currently recovering well. She had some neck surgery to repair some disks and vertebrae that were causing her some severe problems :(.

So it was a lite week, primarily because it was just a plain crazy week with training going on and my wife’s surgery.  The quests I did get in were solid though.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Questing into the Second Week of March, Quest Runs March 7th to 10th

During the second week of March, my questing was pretty much with mid-level characters or epic level characters.  It was also an abnormal week for me because I had to do some traveling for work to get some management training so I didn’t get as much questing in as I typically would.  I started out the week with my typical slayer run on Monday morning.  I took Wapoyei (Level 24 Cleric/Divine Crusader) into the High Road.  While out there I collected another six slayers and defeated the specter, The Eternal Wanderer.  Needless to say I didn’t have a whole lot of time to play that morning.  In the afternoon, I logged on with Hamllin (Level 18 Fighter) and I took him out into the Sands of Menechtarun for some slayers.  During this session, Hamllin focused on the gnolls and collected another 62 slayers in that area as well as taking down Stinkpelt.  That night, I logged on with Suppply (Level 10 Paladin) and Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) and I took them into Searing Heights to run the quest Bargain of Blood.  It was another dual boxing session and I wanted to get my revenge from my horrible attempt at Bargain of Blood from the night before.  On the way out to the quest, I picked up another 13 slayers for Harrgon.  In Bargain of Blood, I was able to the complete the optional objectives for destroying the assassination logbook, meeting up with the House Deneith Party, and freeing the slaves.  After completing Bargain of Blood, and getting my revenge, I then headed off and to do the quest Under the Big Top.  As I made my way through the quest, I only picked up one optional objective and killed Maz’il’tilnik.  In the end chest, Harrgon picked up The Big Top and Diamond of +5 Hide while Suppply picked up the Antique Greataxe as a story arc reward for completing the Phiarlan Carnival Series.

On Tuesday morning, I was scheduled to play Neverwinter Nights II instead of the usual DDO.  I took my level 7 Spirit Shaman Ragnar further into the Warehouse in the Dock District of Neverwinter City.  For my afternoon run, I took Erdrique (Level 28 Rogue/Grandmaster of Flowers) into Sands of Menechtarun for some more slayers.  I also wanted to get something quick in before I headed out to Raleigh for my training.  While out there, I collected 57 gnoll slayers and came across Den Mother Fheena in the Windlasher Village.  That was all I could get in on Tuesday as I left shortly after that slayer run.

Erdrique making his way to the desert.

I took my computer with me on my training trip in Raleigh and was able to get a few more runs in during the week.  On Wednesday, I logged on with Kolll (Level 22 Ranger/Shiradi Champion) and I took him into The Lords of Dust on epic hard.  Kolll picked up 54 fragments of the Token of the Twelve, eight mysterious remnants, the Golden Guile, a monster manual deed for Rhaksasha Hunter for 2,260 experience, and 17 commendations of valor as a quest reward.  However, that was the only quest I was able to complete.

Kolll taking down the cultists in Lords of Dust.

For Thursday,  I started out the day by taking Sludgge (Level 22 Rogue/Shadowdancer) into the Ruins of Gianthold (Heroic) for some slayers.  Sludgge collected 51 Stormheart slayers, two Stormfist slayers, and one Stormeye slayer.  He also defeated the ogre mage, Uthger Runetusk.  That night I logged on with Kanndar (Level 13 Paladin) and Stoorage (Level 13 Fighter) and I took them both into the Tharashk Arena (VON 1) for another session of dual boxing.  The completed the optional objectives for defeating Angog the Champion, Myr’dril, the drunken ogres,  troll enforcers, Smashjaw, and Grogan.  I picked up a number of monster manual deeds during this run.  Kanndar picked up two monster manual deeds, one for minotaur hunter and another for kobold hunter, each awarding him 446 experience.  Stoorage collected a troll hunter monster manual deed for 1,943 experience.  Stoorage also looted a Diamond of +3 Intelligence.  That run closed out my activity for the week.

So, although it was an “off” week for me, I still had a number of interesting runs.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Questing in the First Weekend of March, Quest Runs March 4th to 6th

Well if the title of this post doesn’t tell you anything else, it does show you how much back log I have since today is March 28th and I’m just now getting to my post about my questing activities over the first weekend of March.  I swear I’ll catch up…maybe…

Looking back at those quest runs, I noted quite an array of runs that included some dual boxing, some slayers, some epic runs, and a look at the Anniversary Party.  I started the weekend runs by taking Suppply (Level 10 Paladin) and Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) into the Searing Heights during one of my dual boxing sessions.  During this particular run, Suppply collected all of his rare encounters, located all of the explorers, and collected 135 slayers.  Harrgon also did fairly well getting over the 200 slayer mark with the same 135 slayers.  They defeated the First Mate, Smolder, Hazai Haatha, Giallo, Calcine, and Ghamzee.    During my afternoon questing, I took Erdrique (Level 27 Rogue/Grandmaster of Flowers) back out into the Sands of Menechtarun for some slayer runs.  During a quick run out there, Erdrique collected seven gnolls and 88 scorrow.  He also took the following named scorrow: Mendexethazz, Volrune the Curate, and Workan-Kull.  Later that night, I took Erdrique back out into the desert for some slayers before completing some other quests.  This time Erdrique collected 228 gnolls, 91 scorrow, and 104 undead slayers.  During this run I took out Yuurugh, Whirling Ozann, Palumak, Commander Errulf, Haraja, Mendexethazz, and Utach.  I looted the scimitar Mirage from Utach’s quest.  I also collected 750 slayers for the scorrow area and a monster manual deed for zombies (Hunter III for 1,770 experience).  After tromping through the desert, I headed off and made my way through the Anniversary Party.  I was able to defeat all of the developers and the overlord to get five party favors.  I then too Erdrique into Sschindylryn to make my way to final quest of the City of Portals, The Portal Opens.  As I made my way to the quest I picked a few more slayers for both the drow (seven) and the children of Lolth (four).  Within the Portal Opens, I defeated at least one priestess of Lolth, and the following orange named drow Shev’aal, Namajj Hru’un, Utheo Myar, Sorntran Arkenep, and Chaszoj’ryn.  I picked up a commendation for the druid’s of the king forest and one for the purple dragon knights.  I also looted a Blade of the High Priestess when the quest was completed.  For a quest reward, I selected 24 commendations of valor and for a storyarc reward I picked up a Slaver’s Hand Crossbow.

My quest runs on Saturday were quite challenging.  I first took Erdrique into the quest Don’t Drink the Water on epic hard.  I didn’t run into any issues until I reached the green dragon, Tharmalos, at the end of the quest.  Facing off against the powerful green dragon, I had died twice and once I used a raise cake to get back up.  But I did complete the quest, eventually.  As I made my way to the final fight, I picked up a monster manual deed for mudmen account wide, hunter II.  I was also able to defeat a few orange named dire bears and completed the optional objective of discovering the yuan-ti’s secret chest.  At the end of the quest, I picked up a commendation for War Wizards and as a quest reward I picked up 23 commendations of Valor.  After the rough run, I then took Erdrique back into the Underdark.  I picked up another 33 slayers on my way to the quest In the Belly of the Beast.  This was another difficult quest that I decided to try on epic hard.  Although I did get through the quest, I died four times (three times inside the belly of the great purple worm) and had to re-enter the quest once.  I completed the optional objectives for defeated Zeslyn and bluffing the freedom for the purple dragon knight.  Inside the arena, I took out a few orange dire bears before I was attacked by wave after wave of enemies.  At the end of the quest I picked up two commendations, one for the villagers of Eveningstar and one for the clerics of Amaunater.  As a quest reward, I picked up 24 commendations of Valor.  I also collected another monster manual deed, this one for rust monsters, which gave me the account wide reward for rust monster expertise.

Starting out in the cavern in the quest Don’t Drink the Water.

Coming across a magical barrier early on In the Belly of the Beast.

To close out the weekend, I dual boxed with Suppply and Harrgon once again.  I took  them into Searing Heights and into the quest Bargain of Blood.  In the Searing Heights, Suppply collected his last 138 slayers to complete the area and Harrgon picked up another 224 slayers and reached the 400 slayer mark.  Harrgon also picked up all of the explorer points  The rare encounters I came across were Calcine, Ghamzee, Cruor Russo, Giallo, Hazai Haatha, and Shute Ruggzen.  Although the exploration of the Searing Heights went well, the quest run through Bargain of Blood on elite did not.  This was primarily because I was trying to rush through the quest, which never seems to end well for me.  In fact, Harrgon suffered seven deaths in the quest, who was the primary driver for this run.  I did defeat a first mate and completed the optional objective for destroying the assassination logbook and I met up with the House Deneith party.  Harrgon collected three mysterious remnants while Suppply picked up 16.  Overall, it was just a rough night in the quest.

Harrgon contemplating the majesty of the Searing Heights.

So it wasn’t a bad weekend overall.  I was able to make my way  through a number of quests that I haven’t had a lot of experience making my way through and one quest I had never completed before, that being In the Belly of the Beast.  However, not all of my runs were successful, which is also good, allowing the challenge to still be there, especially in the lower level quests.  Although I did get my revenges in Bargain of Blood.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting in the Underdark!!

Questing Over the Valentine’s Weekend, Quest Runs February 12th to February 14th

It was a relatively busy weekend for me, even though I had a short weekend of questing.  My questing was dominated with runs with my primary character, Erdrique (Level 26 Rogue/Legendary Dreadnaught), as is typical for me during the weekend.  With Valentine’s Day being this past Sunday, I only made some quest runs on Friday and Saturday, although I did log in on Valentine’s Day but it was only during the day time for some minor character maintenance.

I started things out on Friday morning with Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul).  I also logged on with Suppply (Level 10 Paladin), from my premium account, and partied them up to do some dual boxing.  I took them out into Searing Heights for a typical morning slayer run prior to work.  Unfortunately I able to gather many slayers in the morning.  Shortly after I entered the Searing Heights, my computer crashed :(.  Not sure why, but by the time I got everything booted and restarted back up, I had to take off for work.  I did wind up collecting about 18 slayers for both of them.  In the afternoon, I took Hamllin (Level 17 Fighter) into House Cannith and into the challenge Kobold Island: Short Cuts.  I was able to collect just over 300 shards before the time expired.  I wound up getting 102 orthon metal scraps as a reward.  That was the only afternoon run I was able to get in.

Friday night, I logged on with Erdrique and I was joined shortly later by Friedrice.  We then headed off to House Deneith and worked on the quest Spies in the House on epic hard.  I was expecting on us having some difficulties in here, but I was quite pleasantly surprised.  We completed all of the optional objectives for rescuing the various prisoners.  All told, I wracked up over 112,000 experience from the run.  I gathered 58 Fragment of the Twelve, a Sigil of the Lion, and 17 Commendations of Valor.  Once we picked up our quest rewards and rebuffed, we headed back out and into the Stormreach Harbor to start the Web of Chaos chain on epic hard.  We headed off and took on the starting quest of the chain, The Lords of Dust.  We didn’t come across any major obstacles as we made our way through the quest.  The optional objectives we completed were to defeat Bastion, broke the evil altars, and then we defeated all the cultists.  I picked up four mysterious remnants from our encounters, 38 Fragments of the Token of the Twelve, and was awarded an Envenomed Blade.  As a quest reward, I picked up 17 more Commendations of Valor.  I was a little disappointed in that I didn’t get any more scrolls nor did I get any seals.  After we made our way through Lords of Dust, I went on to do some character maintenance and then called it a night.

On Saturday, I logged back on with Erdrique.  I was by myself 😦 this time but still decided to work on the Web of Chaos chain.  I went ahead and started working through Servants of the Overlord on epic hard.  I didn’t have any major issues here, even though I thought I was going to have a hard time with the drow casters.  I completed the optional objectives for opening the sealed door in the beginning of the quest, defeating the fire reaver lord, and defeating Flamefang.  I picked up two monster manual deeds while making my way through Servants of the Overlord: Hellhound Hunter I (gained 2,359 experience) and Rakshasha Exterminator II (gained 2,359 experience).  I found another 56 Fragments of the Token of the Twelve, scrolls of Templar’s Bastion and Cruel Nobility, and a seal for the Darkstorm Helm.  I also picked up the Flameward.  As a quest reward, I picked up another 17 Commendations of Valor.  After rebuffing, I then headed off to do the quest Spinner of Shadows on epic hard.  The Spinner of Shadows is one of those quests that either goes really well or can go sideways quite quickly.  Likely, I had a really smooth run through the quest this time.  I didn’t have any problems dealing with the Spinner however the Vault ability really helped me in this regard.  I was able to complete the optional objective of keeping the Silver Flame Guardian alive.  I picked up a scroll for Templar’s Retribution and a seal for Templar’s Bastion.  I also picked up 44 Fragments of the Token of the Twelve and the quarterstaff Luminous Truth.  For a quest reward, I picked up another 17 Commendations of Valor.  I then headed off to the complete the chain and tackled Beyond the Rift, also on epic hard.  I didn’t have any worries about this particular quest on epic hard.  Beyond the Rift isn’t that difficult of quest, except for dealing with the spell wards in the second half of the quest.  Luckily being a rogue those weren’t an issue.  I completed one optional objective and that was defeating Ozebaw the Unwholesome.  I didn’t gain anything else worth note from the quest but I selected another 17 Commendations of Valor as a quest reward.  Once Beyond the Rift was completed, I called it a night.

My quest runs over the weekend were definitely fun and I gained quite a bit of experience from these runs.  I hope everybody else had just as much fun over the Valentine’s weekend.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

A Little Dual Boxing and a Little Challenging, Quest Runs January 25th to January 28th

My quest runs this week primarily focused on doing some dual boxing (playing two different accounts at the same time with two instances of DDO running), challenge running, and a fun epic run.  I kicked off the week by running a slayer run through the Red Fens.  I took Stoorage (Level 14 Fighter) and Charlock (Level 16 Fighter) out into that enchanted swamp for my first dual boxing session of the week.  The gained another 131 slayers which resulted in Stoorage hitting over 200 slayers and Charlock eclipsing 1,500 slayers.  They also took down Gorger and Kar Xyr.  Later in the afternoon, after getting back home from working and hitting the gym, I took Hamllin (Level 17 Fighter) into the Cannith Challenge Lava Caves: Time is Money.  I’m currently working on collecting challenge ingredients for some equipment for Sludgge (Level 22 Rogue/Shadowdancer).  Hamllin completed the challenge and finished the stars for collecting 100 crystals (mandatory), buying less than 9 minutes of time, and kobold teleporter use.  He received 225 Crystallized Magma Shards.  After a quick run through the Lava Caves, I then took Hamllin out into the Sands of Menechtarun to continue his slayers out there.  While out there Hammy collected four more gnoll slayers and 45 more undead slayers.  I didn’t come across any rare encounters during that quick run :(.  Monday night was another opportunity to do a dual boxing session.  I logged on with Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) and Suppply (Level 10 Paladin).  I was scheduled to play Harrgon that night so I let his quest needs determine what quest to run, which was Devil’s Assault.  I knocked it out on normal.  Harrgon, as a result of the quest, would up hitting the monster manual deeds exterminator I for tieflings (granting him 1,130 experience) and account wide monster manual deed exterminator II for tieflings.  I was also playing during our digital pen and paper session so this was the only quest I was able to complete on Monday night.

On Tuesday, I started out by taking Hamllin out into the Sands of Menechtarun for some slayer runs.  During this morning run, Hammy collected another 30 gnoll slayers and 32 undead slayers.  He also encountered The Thirsty One and Whirling Ozann.  During my afternoon run, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 25 Rogue/Legendary Dreadnaught) and I took him into the Epic Lava Caves: Time is Money.  The stars Erdrique completed during this run was obtaining 100 crystals, keeping all the kobolds alive, and less than 9 minutes of time purchased.  Erdrique also got 111 epic crystallized magma shards.  During Tuesday night, I logged on with Suppply and Harrgon once again.  This dual boxing was driven by what Suppply needed which was The Snitch on elite.  I found this particular quest run interesting.  Suppply was my fain focus on Tuesday night and he came across some issues when he was fighting the named rust monster, Rusty.  I forgot that Suppply didn’t have a everbright dwarven axe and as a result he busted his two strongest axes during that particular encounter.  I need to remember to craft him an everbright axe for rust monsters.  Harrgon, as I moved him up to catch Suppply, found and defeated Thassnos the Mad.  Those were the two primary highlights of that run as the rest of the quest went on without any issues.  I called it a night after that run.

Wednesday started out with a slayer run into the Searing Heights with Suppply and Harrgon, once again.  While out there, they each gained over 50 slayers for the area.  Harrgon hit his 50 and 100 slayer marks.  They both also located the Lone Tree, Scenic Overlook, Distant View, Corridor of Lava, and the Water Cave.  They also encountered Itharn Ushu, Shute Rugzen, and Guck.  In the afternoon, Hamllin ran the challenge Lava Caves: Time is Money once again and completed the following star objectives: collect 100 crystals, keep all kobolds alive, and purchase less than 9 minutes of time.  Hammlin was awarded 170 crystallized magma shards.  That was the end of my quest runs for Wednesday as the rest of the night was devoted to date night.

I closed the week out on Thursday by taking Wapoyei (Level 24 Cleric/Divine Crusader) into the High Road.  While out there, Wapoyei collected 21 slayers and completed the random encounters for Theodas Riverun, Oakarm, and Falsifax.  I failed to help Dia identify her trinket and I couldn’t seem to find the Rebels random encounter although it was showing up on my map.  In the afternoon, I logged on with Erdrique and completed another run of the Epic Lava Caves: Time is Money.  He knocked out the star objectives for 100 Crystals, keep all kobolds alive, and under 9 minutes of time purchased.  It was a very quick run and he only earned 84 epic crystallized magma shards.  I then took him out into the Sands of Menechtarun for some quick slayers.  He took out another 31 gnolls and 43 undead and defeated Thumok the Mad.  Erdrique also picked up the last of his explorer points out there, the gnoll camp.  My quest run that night was also in the desert but it was with Kolll (Level 22 Ranger/Shiradi Champion).  Kolll worked on Against the Demon Queen on epic hard.  His puzzle sequence was  Poisoner, Mockery, Hungry, Devious, Night, and Grasping.  Using the DDOWiki mapping sequence, I was able to make my way through the various rooms without too much of a problem.  While Kolll was making his way through the quest he picked up the monster manual deeds exterminator I for troglodytes, efreeti exterminator I, and efreeti hunter deed.  Now this was the first time I have tried Against the Demon Queen on epic hard and I was quite surprised to see the pockets of Mordakein’s Disjunction on the entrance ramp.  I wasn’t expecting that and found myself with equipment that had their effects removed more than once.  Talk about annoying.  When the quest was done, I had gathered 47 Fragments of the Token of the Twelve, a complete Token of the Twelve, a scroll of the Mummy Wrappings, and 21 mysterious fragments.  Kolll did get killed but I still completed the quest :).

Looking back, it was definitely a different week.  I did dual box quite a bit, especially with Harrgon and Suppply.  Overall, it was a fun week and I’m looking forward to this weekend.  The Risia Ice Games have been out for a week and I haven’t done any coin jumping yet.  That needs to be rectified this weekend!!  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Hitting up More Quests, January 4th to January 7th

Well, at least in terms of questing schedules, things have started to get back to the normal routine.  With the holidays now behind me, my typical questing schedule resumed where I run some slayers for about 10 to 30 minutes prior to heading out to work in the morning, then getting in a quest run or a slayer run in after I get home from work and hitting the gym, and then regular quest running each night, excluding Wednesday nights and the third Saturday night of the week which are reserved as date nights.  So, on Monday, January 4th (since I’m a little behind here…) I logged on first thing in the morning with Kanndar (Level 13 Paladin) and with Suppply (level 10 Paladin).  I was scheduled to play Kanndar but also took the opportunity to log in Suppply for another dual boxing session.  However, Kanndar is still working on his Sorrowdusk Isle slayer zone, which is fine, but that area is a level 11 area and since Suppply was three levels lower than Kanndar and still within range of the full experience award and Kanndar being two levels higher than area, Supply wound up being power leveled and didn’t advance in any slayers or get any experience, although I did get a few chests with him.  In the afternoon, I really wanted to continue to work on upgrading Erdrique’s Ring of the the Stalker and Spare Hand from the Cannith Challenges so I took Erdrique (Level 25 Rogue/Primal Avatar) into Dr. Rushmore’s Mansion: Picture Portals to get some Epic Jeweled Goblet ingredients.  Later than night, while waiting for our digital pen and paper session to begin, I logged on with Cantlin (Level 13 Sorcerer) and with Stoorage (Level 14 Fighter).  It was another opportunity to dual box and since I was scheduled to play Cantlin I used his quest needs to determine what to run so I headed off into Devil’s Assault on hard.  Darkgear was also logged on that night and volunteered to help me out.  I was kind of worried about this quest since Cantlin is a Fire Savant but we really didn’t have many issues here at all.  I’m sure doing this quest on elite will be harder.  After that run, I took care of some maintenance and then logged out for the night.  Unfortunately we never did get everything situated to run the pen and paper game on Monday.

Tuesday started out by taking Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) and Suppply into the Searing Heights.  As you can tell, I took the advantage of dual boxing once again.  Since both characters are working on this area and since Suppply was only a single level lower than Harrgon, both characters were getting advancement in this area.  In the afternoon, I logged on with Hamllin (Level 17 Fighter) and continued with his endless runs of slayers in the Sands of Menechtarun.  That night, I logged on with Tuhnn (Level 15 Bladeforged) and I was joined by Darkgear.  Tuhnn also happened to be working on some slayers and quests in the Sands of Menechtarun so we headed out to the desert and made our way through the quest, The Chamber of Raiyum, better known as the Tomb of the Wizard King.  We had little difficulty making our way through the quest on elite and we actually encountered Raiyum during our first tower.  We still stayed in the quest and defeated the Jackal and the Lion as well so we could get the extra optional experience and to get to the treasure room.  After that, we called it a night.

Dual boxing again in the morning, on Wednesday I took Cantlin and Stoorage into Sorrowdusk Isle for my slayer runs.  Stoorage has the area maxed out but still can get some experience from the rare encounters and not to mention to loot whatever chests I find which also gives me the opportunity to loot more guild renown for the Crypt Crawlers!! In the afternoon, I logged on with Erdrique and I took him back into House Cannith and ran another iteration of Dr.Rushmore’s Mansion: Picture Portals.  That was the last of my question on Wednesday.

Erdrique working on hunting down a boss in Dr. Rushmore’s Mansion.

On Thursday, I logged on with Larrs (Level 21 Bard/Fatesinger) and I took him into the King’s Forest for some slayers.  It felt a little strange not dual boxing 🙂 but I don’t have any of my Premium account characters higher than level 14, yet :).  In the afternoon, I took Hamllin back out into the Sands of Menechtarun.  That night, I logged on with Rimuldar (Level 23 Wizard/Draconic Incarnation) I continued with his quest runs into Sschindylryn and I took him through the quest House of Broken Chains on epic normal.  After working my way through that vicious drow house and freeing a bunch of slayers and starting a mini-revolt, I then headed off to try House of Death Undone.  Unfortunately, I ran out of time dealing with the necromancers and their zombie reincarnations.  I’ll have to take Rimuldar back in next time.

So, the week wasn’t a bad one at all.  Things started to settle back down to the normal routine.  I had some nice mid-level questing this week and a nice set of epic runs as well.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting in Sschindylryn!!

Back to Being Productive, Quest Runs December 11th to December 13th

Unlike the weekend prior, this past weekend was far from disappointing and was actually quite productive.  The weekend started out by dual boxing with Stoorage (Level 13 Fighter) and Kanndar (Level 13 Paladin) who I took out into the Red Fens.  My explorer runs continued in the afternoon when I took Hamllin (Level 17 Fighter) back out into the Sands of Menechtarun and continued with the gathering up of gnolls and scorrow slayers.  Then that night, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 24 Rogue/Primal Avatar) and I went out into the Dreaming Dark and worked my way through that quest on elite.  I didn’t have any issues (besides getting aggravated the light and heavy gravity jumping) until I got to the end fight.  The Devourer of Dreams and his living nightmares were quite tough.  I died a number of times but I received help from Hellorcish and together we were able to complete the quest.  We then headed out to the Storm Horns and tackled the quest What Goes Up on elite.  Unlike the weekend previous, I was able to make my way through this quest and with Hell’s help we were able to complete it on heroic elite :).  I called it a night after that.

Erdrique is once again in What Goes Up but with more help this time!!

On Saturday, I logged back on with Erdrique and this time I took him out to Amrath, the floating segment of rock above the plane of Shavarath and the Devil’s Battlefield.  Looking at my Adventure Compendium, we headed out into the battlefield and located the quest entrance for Wrath of Flame.  I was joined by Hellsbain and Friedrice and we entered the quest on elite and had little difficulty dealing with Malicia and her minions.  After we completed that quest we made our way over to the Weapons Shipment and entered that quest on elite.  We plowed our way through the quest and lasted round after round of tieflings, hell hounds, orthons, and bearded devils.  We completed the quest and I was pleasantly surprised to be awarded the Mysterious Bauble and Hellsbain was granted the Shimmering Arrowhead.  We then headed back out into the battlefield to take on another quest.  This time we headed to the quest Sins of Attrition and made our way through that multilevel based taking on the various devil legions.  I was expecting on running into some issues here with dungeon alert but luckily we didn’t reach anything higher than green :).  We made our way through pretty painlessly :).  We ended our quest running after we completed Sins of Attrition.

Just waiting for trouble to come pouring out of that portal.

My questing continued on Sunday.  I logged on early with Erdrique and I took him into Ataraxia’s Haven to work on some slayers out there.  Again, I am sorely behind in his wilderness zones.  After that run, I took Erdrique back into House Cannith and decided to run some challenges.  I still really want to upgrade my Ring of the Stalker and Spare Hand to its highest tier.  I ran Dr. Rushmore’s Mansion:Picture Portals and then moved over to the Extraplanar Palace:Buy Time which I ran three times.  I did those runs in the afternoon between setting up Christmas decorations and doing chores :).  Sunday night, I logged on with Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) and Suppply (Level 10 Paladin) and I started to dual box them through Purge the Heretics on elite.  Khameltoe then joined up with me and we made our way through Dead Predators, Caged Trolls, and The Bounty Hunter on elite.  We called it a night after Bounty Hunter.

So compared to the weekend prior, this past weekend was much more productive.  On Saturday, as we were making our way through the Devil’s Battlefield I leveled Erdrique up to 24 :).  I was also able to get through two of the more tougher quests on elite, What Goes Up and the Dreaming Dark.  Now to finish the Amrath quests, which will also be very difficult.  To top things off I was fortunate to get a Mysterious Bauble as well.

Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting in the Devil’s Battlefield!!
