Another Look Back, Quest Runs March 14th to March 17th

My quest runs over the third week of March were relatively light when compared to my typical playing week.  This was because I was trying to catch up on a few other things, which I still haven’t been able to do quite yet (even a month plus out, ugh..).  Luckily the things I’m behind in are primarily my side fun activities but still a little annoying.  Needless to say, I did play during a number of sessions in DDO that week.

I kicked things off on Monday by taking Hamllin (Level 18 Fighter) out into the Sands of Menechtarun for a typical slayer run in the afternoon.  I focused primarily on the gnoll encampment and collected another 62 gnoll slayers and defeated Den Mother Fheena and I also looted the greatsword Whirlwind.  However, that was the only run I made on Monday night.

Hamllin making his way through the dust of the desert to battle some gnolls.

On Tuesday morning, I continued my desert slayers but with Erdrique (Level 28 Rogue/Grand Master of Flowers).  Erdrique picked up another 13 gnolls and 21 scorrow slayers.  During this run, Erdrique picked up two account monster manual deeds, one for Scorrow Exterminator V and one for Scorrow Expertise.  Unfortunately this was the only run I was able to accomplish on Tuesday.

Erd making his way into the gnoll village.

Wednesday was a little more productive for me, which is ironic because Wednesdays are typically my light day in terms of DDO activity.  I kicked things off that morning by taking Kolll (Level 22 Ranger/Shiradi Champion) out into the King’s Forest and to get some hunting in.  While out there, he picked up another 37 slayers which included 4 dire bears.  He also completed the random encounters for saving the villager from the bandits, bolstering the line, and freeing the shopkeeper.  In the afternoon, I logged on with Hamllin and I took him back out into the Sands of Menechtarun and while out there he picked up another 69 slayers in the gnoll camp which awarded him with his 3,000 gnoll kills.  He also picked up another 27 scorrow slayers.  He also encountered and killed Den Mother Fheena.  After that run, I took Hamllin out into Kobold Island: Short Cuts.  I was able to complete the challenge by collecting 300 dragonshards and received 121 Orthon Metal Scraps as a reward. That completed my run for Wednesday.

Kolll hunting in the King’s Forest.

Hamllin collecting the last bit of his gnoll slayers in the desert.

Hamllin exploring Kobold Island: Short Cuts.

My most productive day of the week was Thursday.  I actually started the day by playing Neverwinter Nights II-OC first thing in the morning prior to work.  I took Ragnar further into the dangers of Neverwinter City and finished clearing out the Warehouse by defeating the mini-boss, Barlowe.  In the afternoon, I brought on Erdrique and I took him into the Cannith Challenge, Lava Caves: Colossal Crystal.  I collected one progenitor crystal and completed the objective for clearing out the amphitheater.  Erdrique picked up 147 epic jaded scorpions as reward.  That night, I logged on with Charlock (Level 16 Fighter) and I took him out into the Sands of Menectharun for the first time.  He collected six gnolls and 25 undead slayers as he made his way to the Tomb of the Physician.  During this slight travel into the desert, he picked up the explorer point for the Tomb of he Physician and 10 undead kills.  I then took Charlock into the Tomb of the Physician on elite.  He picked up a monster manual deed for Ghast Exterminator II and was awarded 2,300 experience.  He also completed the optional objectives for collecting the Seal of the Soul, destroying 10 servant’s coffins, destroying 10 mummy guardings, and defeating Jezzerae, Kaenis, Uneeou, and UlzarionUlzarion.  After that run I called it a night.

So although this particular week was abnormal, I was still lucky enough to have the play time to close it out pretty strongly.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

A Full Weekend of Questing, Quest Runs October 16th to October 18th

It was a fun full weekend of questing this past weekend.  I actually started the weekend by playing Ragnar (Level 7 Spirit Shaman) in Neverwinter Nights II instead of doing my typical morning slayer run in DDO on Friday morning.  I find Neverwinter Nights II to be a fun distraction to DDO and so far I have my game time sessions for it slotted in with my slayer runs prior to work.  However, with my recent move for more and more dual boxing, I’m wondering if I could figure out a way to play Neverwinter Nights II every once in awhile while playing DDO.  I’m going to have to work on that and see how effective I can make it.  In either case, I continue with Ragnar on Friday morning as he cleared out the gangs in the back alley of Neverwinter and now has received another quest.  In the afternoon, I took Hamllin (Level 17 Fighter) into the Sands of Menechtarun for some more slayers.  Hamllin is inching his way through the scorrow and undead and making a decent enough progress on his gnolls.  On Friday night, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 21 Rogue/Fury of the Wild) and I did a circuit through the Red Fens slayers and then got together with Hellbanisher.  Together we started the Reign of Madness quest chain and completed Acute Delirium and Sane Asylum.  After Sane Asylum, Hellbanisher called it a night but I continued on and completed Lord of Stone and Lord of Eye to get the quest chain completed.  After which I called it a night.

On Saturday, I took the opportunity to log on with Erdrique during the daytime between chores and yard work and I took him back out into the Red Fens and finally completed that slayer area!!  Now Erdrique needs to move to the Restless Isles and Ataraxia’s Haven, both of which shouldn’t take him very long.  The Restless Isles will be nice because it will allow Erdrique to wrack up a number of ogre slayers in his monster manual.  Besides hitting up and completing the Red Fens, I was able to knock out some challenges as well.  I completed three runs through the Extraplanar Palace: Labor Shortage and one run through Dr. Rushmore’s Mansion: Picture Portals.  However, that was all of the questing I was able to get done on Saturday, as it was my weekend date night with my beautiful wife.

Sunday, I again was able to run a challenge with Erdrique during the day and I took him through Dr. Rushmore’s Mansion: Picture Portals once again and then I took him through a run of the Lava Caves: Colossal Crystal.  Later on Sunday night, I logged on with Tuhnn (Level 15 Bladeforged) and I took him out into the Sands of Menechtarun and headed off into the quest, Raid the Vulkoorim.  As I was completing that quest, Khamellock logged in and joined up with me and we then headed out to the quest Maraud the Mines and then over to Chains of Flame to get those quest knocked out on elite.  After the long run through Chains of Flame, I called it a night.

So the weekend was quite productive, even with having Saturday night as a date night.  Erdrique made a nice dent in getting the ingredients he needs to upgrade his Ring of the Stalker to tier 2 on its epic version.  Hopefully I can get that done through the week.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Looking Back at This Week’s Runs, Questing July 13th to July 17th

As I took a glance at my quest runs this past week, I really couldn’t come up with a nice theme for the week.  However, now that I think about it, I probably could have said it was the week of undead and giant slaying considering that I had quest runs through the Catacombs, Delera’s Graveyard, Threnal, Red Fens, and the Black Loch.  Well, in any case, my questing started off on Monday morning with a slayer run into the King’s Forrest with Kolll (Level 22 Ranger/Shiradi Champion).  Kolll is slowly wracking up his slayers out there.  I think I need to put in a few extra slayer runs for him to really start making a dent in that area.  Later that afternoon, after I got home from work and prior to dinner, I took Erdrique (Level 14 Rogue) back into the Ruins of Threnal and completed the Threnal Arena and the first quest among the Giant Caves, The Giant Lieutenants.  Later that night, during my digital PNP game session, I logged on with Crawlller (Level 6 Ranger) and took him into the Catacombs and completed The Old Archives, The Crypt of Gerard Dryden, and Setting the Wards: The Lower Cathedral on hard.  I called it a night after those runs and we closed out our PNP session as well.

On Tuesday, my morning questing was in Neverwinter Nights II.  I mix in an occassional run of Neverwinter Nights II with my slayer runs.  I’m currently working on a low level Spirit Shaman named Ragnar at the moment and we are currently exploring the corruption in Neverwinter.  Later in the afternoon, I took Hamllin (Level 16 Fighter) and I took him out into the Red Fens and wracked up some more slayers.  Hamllin is slowly accumulating more and more slayers and is approaching that 7,500 mark.  Later that night, I logged on with Larrs (Level 21 Bard/Fatesinger) and I took him into House Deneith and started the Sentinels of Stormreach chain.  I picked up the quest storyline and the first quest Bargain of Blood and headed out to the Bargain Bazaar in the Searing Heights.  I completed the Bargain of Blood on epic normal with help from my onyx panther, level 17 owlbear, and a favored soul hireling.  I didn’t have any problems at all, using charm monster quite effectively to turn my enemies against each other.  I then headed off to The Black Loch, where I took Larrs and his makeshift band against the necromancers of the Blood Tide pirates and I had some fun slicing through those hordes of shuffling zombies and pirates.  I then called it a night.

Wedensday was my typical “short” day.  I started the day by taking Kanndar (Level 12 Paladin) into Sorrowdusk Isle to work on some more slayers out there.  He is still working on his 750 slayer mark out there.  Later in the afternoon, I took Erdrique back out into the Ruins of Threnal and completed the last two quests out there: The Giants’ Lair and the Giants’ Supplies.  Those were the only runs I was able to complete as I spent the rest of the day with my beautiful wife.

I logged on with Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) first thing Thursday morning and took him through some slayer runs in Three Barrel Cove.  Later on in the afternoon, I logged on with Hamllin and continued to work on his slayer runs in the Red Fens.  Later that night, I logged on with Harrgon once again and I took him through the quests Free Delera and Thrall of the Necromancer on elite.  I still had some time to kill, so I took Harrgon out into Three Barrel Cove to more on some slayers and then I called it a night.

Overall, it was quite a diverse week of quest runs.  I had some low level, mid level, higher level, and epic level runs in the mix this week.  I hope everybody else had a nice week as well and I hope everybody has an even better weekend.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting.

Looking Back at My Quest Filled Week, Quest Runs June 8th to June 11th

Well to start off the week, I actually did some adventuring in Neverwinter Nights II OC during this past Monday morning because the DDO game servers were offline for maintenance.  So that morning I took Ragnar and his band further into the city of Neverwinter and into the Moonstone Mask to find out more about the whereabouts of a crime lord.  Later that afternoon, after I got back home and DDO was back online, I took Erdrique (Level 10 Rogue) through the quest Dead Predators.  Later that night, I logged on with Kolll (Level 22 Ranger/Shiradi Champion) and took him into the The Prisoner and The Jungle of Khyber on epic hard.

On Tuesday, I started my questing by taking Kanndar (Level 12 Paladin) into Sorrowdusk Isle.  He is slowly collecting his slayers that area but he is getting there.  That afternoon, I continued with my slayer runs by taking Hamllin (Level 16 Fighter) into the Red Fens where he continues to make his way through his slayers.  However, the more fun experience came that night when I logged back on with Kanndar and took him into The Pit.  I took Kanndar through the Pit on elite an enjoyed making my way through the complicated sewer system of House D.

I started off Wednesday by taking Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) into the slayer zone he is currently working through, the pirate infested area of Three Barrel Cove.  Later that afternoon, I took Erdrique into the quest Graverobber.  Although Erdrique was level 10 at the time, he still had a number of level 7 quests to knock out that included the Graverobber.  He still has to complete the Sentinel Series, Gwylan’s Stand, Taming the Flames, and Tear of Dhakaan as well.  I’m hoping to knock those out this weekend, and of course I’m expecting to hit level 11 too :).  In either case, after the Graverobber I called it a day as far as questing is concerned because I spent that night hanging out with my wife for our weekly date night.

To wrap up the week, I took Cantlin (Level 12 Sorcerer) out into Sorrowdusk Isle.  I had some fun times burning up some ogres, trolls, and scorpions.  Later that afternoon, I took Hamllin back into the Red Fens and then later that night I took Hamllin into the Cannith Challenges to collect the rest of the Challenge ingredients for Erdrique.  So I ran through Dr. Rushmore’s Mansion: Picture Portals a few times and I was able to get enough jeweled goblets for Erdrique to upgrade his Challenge gear.  I then took Hamllin back into the Red Fens.

Overall it was nice set of runs.  I really enjoyed making my way through Epic VON II and III with Kolll and knocking out those quests with Erdrique.  I was also happy to get what I needed from the Cannith Challenges for Erdrique.  Nice week indeed!!  Hoping this weekend is just as good.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Mixing It Up, Quest Runs May 18th to May 21st

Somehow I have fallen behind in my blog posting this week.  Actually, I fell behind because of a major two day meeting from work and then the holiday weekend so I’m going to try to catch up today.  With that I wanted to highlight the runs I completed last week.  The week actually kicked off some adventuring in another game because DDO was undergoing its maintenance downtime.  So, I started off by taking my low level spirit shaman, Ragnar, through the wild city of Neverwinter in Neverwinter Nights II OC on Monday morning.  Ragnar wound up picking up a few more quests as we continues to explore that intriguing city.  Later that afternoon, I took Erdrique (Level 10) through the quest Caged Trolls on elite as he continues to make his way through his level 6 quests on elite.  Then, while also working on our digital PNP game, I took Rimuldar (Level 23 Wizard/Magister) out into the King’s Forest as I tried to make my way to the quest Unquiet Graves.  I should have planned a little bit better by printing out a map of the King’s Forest because I couldn’t open up the DDOwiki to help locate the quest entrance (between DDO and the PNP session, my memory was pretty maxed out so I didn’t want to open up my browser).  In any case, I did gain quite a bit of experience while hunting through the forest but I never did find the quest but I’ll be better prepared next time.

On Tuesday, I took  Berann (Level 7 Barbarian) out into Tangleroot Gorge.  Berann still has quite a ways to go to complete that area.  That afternoon, I logged on with Hamllin (Level 16 Fighter) and continued my obsession with catching up on his slayer areas and took him back into the Red Fens.  Hammy is slowly making his way to the 3,000 slayer mark but still has quite a ways to go until he reaches the 7,500 mark.  That night, I logged on with Containment (Level 6 Cleric) who is also working on Tangleroot Gorge.  After a quick run through that slayer area, I took him into the Catacombs where he continued on that story arc by working his way through The Old Archives and the Crypt of Gerard Dryden.

Wednesday morning I kicked the day off by taking Rimuldar back out into the King’s Forest, although this time I was purposefully doing some hunting and slaying as opposed to looking for a quest entrance.  That afternoon, it was time to bring Erdrique back on and I took him back into Gladewatch Outpost to take on the hordes of the hobgoblins and their ogre leader.  After I completed that quest, I then went into Three Barrel Cove to work on completing that slayer area and wound up picking up my last rare encounter.  I didn’t log in that night but instead hung out with my wife for our weekly date night.

Thursday, I started off by taking Garrrin (Level 22 Barbarian/Fury of the Wild) into the King’s Forest, who like Rimuldar, is working on those slayers.  I did this prior to heading off to my big meeting.  However, the meeting did last longer than I had planned and because of that I didn’t get a chance to log on during the late afternoon for that run.  But I did log in later that night with Stoorage (Level 12 Fighter).  I was also joined up with Khamelblade and we hit up a few lower level quests including Proof is in the Poison, The Troglodyte’s Get, and Old Gray Garl.  I was able to collect enough experience on him to hit level 12.  I called it a night at that point to close out the night.

Overall, it was fun week.  I had the opportunity to mix it up quite a bit by taking some lower level characters through some of older quests while also taking some epic level characters through some hunting adventures.  The weekend was nice as well and I hope everybody else had a great week and a wonderful weekend!!  Thanks for reading and happy hunting!!

Spending Some Time in the Jungle, Quest Runs April 6th to April 9th

As I took a look back the at quest runs I made this week, I realized that I had a number of runs that occurred in the wilds of Sorrowdusk Isle, hence the title for this post.  However, as my week kicked off on Monday morning, I started with taking Kolll (Level 22 Ranger/Shiradi Champion) out into the woods of the King’s Forest.  Unfortunately that was the only run was able to do on Monday because of the unexpected extended down time for Update 25 Reign of Elemental Evil.

photo Kolll laying down a smackdown on enemies in Kings Forest_zpsvlfbwhht.jpg
Kolll exploring the King’s Forest.

The following morning, I actually booted up Neverwinter Nights II and took my spirit shaman, Ragnar, into another district of Neverwinter City to tack down the captain of the city watch to get my next assignment.  However that afternoon I logged on with Erdrique (Level 5 Rogue) and I took him into the Depths of Despair where I took on the forces of the troglodyte chief, Ssylsk.  I then pondered why anybody, other than a troglodyte, would want to work for troglodyte chief in a blog post after the run.  Later on that night, I brought on one of my epic level characters, Garrrin (Level 22 Barbarian/Fury of the Wild) and I took him through VON 2 (The Prisoner) on Epic Hard and had a nice and straightforward run which quite surprised me.  I then took Garrrin into the Harbor and Market to run some favor runs before I headed off to bed.

On Wednesday morning, I was scheduled to bring on Kanndar (Level 12 Paladin).  Kanndar is currently working on his slayers in Sorrowdusk Isle, so I took him out there to collect some more slayer counts of ogres, trolls, and other baddies.  That afternoon after work, I logged on with Hamllin (Level 16 Fighter) who is also working on his slayers out there.  Hamllin is nearly complete, only need a few hundred more to hit the 1,500 max slayer mark before he can move on to his next area of conquest, Red Fens.

Thursday, I started everything off with Harrgon (Level 10 Favored Soul) who is making his mark out in Three Barrel Cove.  Later that afternoon, I brought on Erdrique for a rather long run through Proof is in the Poison on elite.  I was kind of looking forward to that run because Erdrique can easily disable those traps in the beginning as a rogue which always give my other characters head aches.  By the time I finished the quest, I had received a nice little chunk of experience and I was happy to get it out of the way.  I didn’t run into any issues, not even any accidental hireling deathers .  Later on that night, I logged on with Cantlin (Level 12 Sorcerer) and I took him into the jungles of Sorrowdusk Isle.  Cantlin continued to collect his slayers out there and he finished up his explorers and picked up another rare encounter out there.  I then headed off to do the quest The Sanctum: Quench the Flames on elite.  Although I had some issues with the mephits in the begging of the quest and got sliced up pretty good in the one blade trap, I made it through it.  Cantlin now only needs the last quest to finish it up .

So those were my runs over the past week.  I hope everybody else had some fun and entertaining runs.  I’m sure a lot of people have been exploring the Temple of Elemental Evil.  I plan on looking into it was Erdrique hits level 7.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Working on my Iconic, Questing Over the Week May 9th to May 12th

Over the past week, my normal routine of questing in DDO was off slightly.  To start off the week, I took Hamllin (Level 15 Fighter) into the Three Barrel Cove slayer area and finished up that explorer zone.  I then took Hamllin out to start/continue the Searing Heights slayer area.  However, bot of these runs were in afternoon after work because I couldn’t log in Monday morning as my ISP issues from Sunday night continued over into Monday morning :(.  Later that night, I logged on with Tuhnn (Level 15 Bladeforged) and took him out into the Ruins of Gianthold and ran his first quest, Feast or Famine on elite.  I logged on Tuhnn because I was supposed to play him on Sunday and since I was having issues I decided to try to catch up with him on Monday.  After that run, I logged out Tuhnn and brought on Rimuldar (Level 23 Wizard/Magister) and took him through the quest Beyond the Rift on epic normal.  As I was making my way through Beyond the Rift, Oldironsides logged on and asked for some help in Eveningstar.  So, after I finished with Beyond the Rift, I logged out with Rimuldar and brought Tuhnn back on and loaded him into Eveningstar.  I then joined up with Oldironsides and we ran the Disciples of Shar on elite.  We didn’t have too many problems, although I did get killed twice when external programs popped up on my computer that blocked my DDO screen :(.  But besides those minor problems, the quest went pretty smoothly.  I then called it a night after that.

Tuesday was kicked off by taking Cantlin (Level 12 Sorcerer) out into the jungle landscape of Sorrowdusk Isle.  That afternoon, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 18 Monk) and took him into Devil’s Assault on elite.  I had an interesting time during that run, especially in the beginning.  I say this because the first three or four enemies I defeated where orange named vermin keepers (Bearded Devil’s) and each one was a champion that dropped a chest upon their defeat.  In fact, I haven’t had a run yet where I have gathered more mysterious fragments than during my run through the Devil’s Assault on elite.  I was quite pleased with the run.  Erdrique now only needs about 2.5 k to hit heroic cap.  Later on Tuesday night, I logged on with Containment (Level 6 Cleric) and took him into The Swiped Signet and completed that run through hard and elite.  As I was working through those runs, Oldiron logged in.  So I finished up the Swiped Signet and logged on with Tuhn and we did some explorations through Wheloon Prison before I had to call it a night.

Wednesday was a very short day in terms of questing.  However, I did take advantage of a short change in my work schedule.  First off, I took Kanndar (Level 12 Paladin) out into Sorrowdusk Isle and continued to work on his slayers.  Then I logged on with Harrgon (Level 10 Favored Soul) and took him out into Three Barrel Cove.  I was supposed to play Harrgon on Monday morning but I couldn’t because my ISP issues were still occurring.  So I was able to catch up with him as well prior to heading to work.  Later that afternoon, I took Hamllin back out into Searing Heights, as I continue to work on catching up with his slayer areas.

Thursday, I started my questing not in DDO but inside Neverwinter Nights II instead.  I took my spirit shaman, Ragnar, further into the intrigue of Neverwinter City.  I didn’t log in that afternoon but that night I logged on with Stoorage (Level 11 Fighter) and I took him through a level 4 quest that I didn’t realize I skipped over, Proof is in the Poison.  To get the favor, I decided to run it but because Stoorage is a character on my Premium account I had to open it up on normal and will have to run through it on normal, hard, and elite.  I was able to knock it out on normal and hard before I had to head to bed.

So over all, it was a good week of questing, even though it was slightly off of the norm.  I played Tuhnn more than I had planned and so far I like playing with him :).  I already know this weekend will be light questing wise but I’m still looking forward to making my way through the enemies of DDO.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

A Wide Array of Questing Over the Week, Quest Runs Feb 9th to Feb 12th

The one good thing about having a large number of characters that are spread throughout various level ranges is that you get to explore a wide variety of dungeons and levels .  This week was another one where I ran quite a wide array of character levels.  This week, I kicked everything off with a slayer run through Sorrowdusk Isle with Kanndar (Level 11 Paladin).  Kanndar is steadily making some progress out there.  Later that day, I logged on with Hamllin (Level 15 Fighter) and I headed off into the Sands of Menechtarun and took on the evil forces of King Raiyum in the Tomb of The Wizard King.  I enjoyed taking Hamllin through there, especially since I had recently ran through the same quest with Erdrique (Level 17 Monk) not too long ago.  Hamllin didn’t have many issues at all and actually found the Wiz-King in his tower search.  During my night run, I logged on with Berann (Level 7 Barbarian) and took him into Waterworks.  On his way to the Waterworks quest, he completed the explorer/slayer area.  I then took him through The Kobold’s Den: Clan Gnasthooth and The Kobold’s Den Rescuing Arlos.  While I was taking Berann through the Waterworks, I was also having some interesting times in my weekly digital PNP game as well.  It was a nice day of questing overall.

Tuesday started off with me taking Harrgon (Level 10 Favored Soul) into the wilds of Tangleroot Gorge.   Harrgon is nearly done out there and will hopefully finish up that area soon.  That afternoon I brought on Erdrique and I took him out into the Ruins of Gianthold  for the first time during this life.  He easily wracked up a number of slayers in the Stormfist area on his way to the quest Feast or Famine.  One thing that hit me that afternoon was a nice set of lag issues.  I actually died near the beginning inside Feast of Famine but I was able to recover without to much difficulty.  That night I logged on with Sludgge (Level 21 Rogue/Shadowdancer) and took him out into the Red Fens and completed the quests The Last Stand and Fathom the Depths on Epic Normal.  Sludgge still needs quite a lot of equipment before I will move up in quest difficulty.  In any case I was able to make it through the quests without an issue and then I called it a night.

On Wednesday, a kink was thrown into my regular schedule when the servers were taken down for some maintenance.  I was scheduled to play Cantlin (Level 11 Sorcerer) for my morning slayer run but instead I ran Ragnar, my spirit shaman, in Neverwinter Nights II OC.  He is currently on a mission to investigate the corruption in the Neverwinter Watch.  By the time I got back home from work the game servers were back online .  I logged on with Hamllin and took him through the quest Diplomatic Impunity.  The quest went smoothly and I didn’t experience any issues.  However, because Wednesday is date night that was my only run of the day.

I was scheduled to kick off Thursday with Larrs (Level 20 Bards/Fatesinger).  So I took him out into the Ruins of Gianthold for some more Stormfist Slayers.  For my run after work, I logged on with Erdrique who I also took out into the dangerous Ruins of Gianthold and into the quest Trial by Fire.  Erd took on the Blackheart Trolls and their ancient arachnid pets with his owlbear and cleric hireling and made short work of them .  That night I logged on with Crawlller (Level 6 Ranger) and completed the quest The Swiped Signet on elite and then started up the Catacombs story arc by completing The Friar’s Niece and To Find a Witness on normal (Crawlller is one of my premium characters).  I then called it a night .

So overall a fun week with quest being ran across a variety of levels.  I’m hoping for a fun weekend as well.  I hope everybody else had a good week!!  Thanks for reading and happy hunting!!

Good Questing Even with Video Card Issues, Quest Runs December 1 to December 4

Although the week was a little frustrating I still completed an array of quests.  On Monday, I took Kolll (Level 21 Ranger/Shiradi Champion) out into the ever beautiful King’s Forest.  I enjoyed hunting with Kolll out there, taking down the evil drow prior to heading to the office that morning.  That afternoon, prior to my weekly digital PNP session, I took Erdrique (Level 9 Monk) out into Gwylan’s Stand.  Gwylan’s Stand is always a fun run and one of the classic older quests in the game.  Later that night, while also playing my digital PNP game, I took Larrs (Level 20 Bard/Fatesinger) into the next quest of the Reign of Madness storyline, Sane Asylum.   That was all of the questing I got down on Monday night.

Instead of doing a slayer run on Tuesday morning, I was scheduled to play Neverwinter Nights II and to log in my Spritit Shaman and to continue to take him through the city of Neverwinter.  I actually had Neeskhka, your NPC rogue in the original campaign, lift a pretty cool +2 Acid longsword from a local merchant for him.  I also encountered one fight in the city before I had to head off to work.  Later that afternoon I took Hamllin (Level 13 Fighter) through the quests The Path to Madness and The Xorian Cipher, which I wrote about here.  Using a few hirelings, I took my little makeshift party into the Xorian Cipher and some interesting times in there and completed it on elite.  That night, I logged on with Harrgon (Level 10 Favored Soul) and took him out into Three Barrel Cove to complete his last quest out there, The Scondrel’s Run.  I called it a night after running through the Scondrel’s Run.

Wednesday was the beginning of my troublesome week.  I did get my morning slayer run in with Kanndar (Level 11 Paladin) in Sorrowdusk Isle though.  But when I got home from work, my original video card died and I didn’t get back into the game Thursday afternoon.

After I got my new video card installed and its drivers downloaded I then took advantage of the fact that my wife had to work a long shift and caught up on my runs I missed on Wednesday.  Thursday afternoon I took Erdrique through the quest The Bounty Hunter, then I took Hamllin through the last quest in the Red Fens, Into the Deep, and then I ran my scheduled morning slayer run in Tangleroot Gorge with Harrgon.  Later that night I logged on Suppply (Level 10 Paladin) who his one of characters on my premium account and took him into Stand Your Ground and Dirty Laundry on hard as I restarted the Sharn Sydicate series for favor.  After all of that and getting all of runs caught up and back on schedule I called it a night.

So, as mentioned previously, it was frustrating week but luckily a new video card helped to catch back up and not to miss too much gaming time in DDO.  Hopefully I can do a better job in maintaining this video card as I realized my old one had built up much more dust than I realized and I thought I was doing a good job in keeping int clean.  In any case, everything is back up and running again! Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting this weekend!!

Low Level Questing Weekend, November 14th to November 16th

Well, the questing activities were a little out of ordinary this weekend and were dominated with low level questing.  With that said, my questing activity actually started with a Friday morning slayer run through the Vale of Twilight with Rimuldar (Level 23 Wizard/Magister) as he continues to collect some slayers from Shavarath.  That afternoon, I did some mid-level questing with Hamllin (Level 13 Fighter) who ventured back into Ataraxia’s Haven and got his revenge on the duergar in the quest Reclamation.  Of course I was also impacted by the server issues later on Thursday night.  After checking on a few DDO related items, I decided to boot up Neverwinter Nights II and took my Spirit Shaman (Ragnar, Level 6) further into the city of Neverwinter and came across a few encounters which allowed me to level up.

By around 1 am EST later Friday/early Saturday the DDO servers were back online which allowed to log in with Erdrique (Level 8 Monk).  I took Erdrique back out into Three Barrel Cove and completed the quests The Troglodyte’s Get, Old Gray Garl, and The Scondrel’s Run.  This allowed me to finish up all of the quest in the Three Barrel Cove area and left me with only the slayers to max out on.  After my run through the Scondrel’s Run I called it a night.

I didn’t get much questing in on Saturday, as that was my data night weekend.  However, I did get Erdrique into Three Barrel Cove to complete his slayer runs out there while my beautiful wife had to work and in between some chores.  Now Erdrique is ready to head off to the Searing Heights and to take on the forces of the Sulataar Drow and the Blood Tide Pirates.

On Sunday I logged on with my newest/youngest character, my casting druid Cannock.  The first thing I did was to give his wolf a new name, Slasher.  I was then joined by Khamelblade and we went ahead to finish off the Korthos Island Quests.  While running from quest entrance to quest entrance, we were able to finish the rare encounters and explorer point quests.  We also took on and completed Stopping the Sahaugin, Necromancer’s Doom, Sacrifices, and Misery’s Peak with little difficulty.  We then headed out to the Harbor and the Marketplace and breezed through Walk the Butcher’s Path, The Sunken Sewer, and the Baudry Cartamon Chain.  We called it a night after those runs.

So as you can tell the questing this week was quite light overall, dominated with low level runs.  The runs were still good as I keep getting Erdrique closer to his next level and I got some play time in with Cannock.  I hope everybody else had a good weekend as well!!  Thanks for reading and happy hunting!!
