Working on Catching back Up, Quest Runs June 15th to June18th

Well, there is another better in the world than following behind…yeah right.  For some reason, this year I have been having a problem in keeping with staying on track when it comes to my blogging :(.  Much of this just has to do with changes and my crazy work schedule this year.  In any case, I want to try to catch back up as I haven’t put up a blog since Saturday, June 20.  So, to being to catch back up, I realized I didn’t review my quest runs from the week of June 15th.  To kick off that week, I took a character from my premium account, Containment (Level 6 Cleric) and took him out into the Tangleroot Gorge explorer area.  Containment still has a little ways to go in that area but is steadily progressing through it.  Keeping up with that theme, I took Hamllin (Level 16 Fighter) into the bogs of the Red Fens and am currently steadily working his 5,000 slayer mark.  That will still be a little while in the making.  Later that Monday night, I was scheduled to play Erdrique (Level 12 Rogue) so I took him out into Sorrowdusk Isle and worked on the next two parts of the Cult of the Six story arc by completing The Temple Outpost: Captives of the Cult and The Temple Outpost: The Libram of the Six.  Neither quest caused me any issues, which was good because my attention was divided between DDO and our weekly Monday night digital PNP session.

On Tuesday, my slayer run involved taking Charlock (Level 14 Fighter) into the bogs of the Red Fens.  Charlock is much further behind than Hamllin in his slayers but then again I play Hamllin much more often than I do Charlock.  Later that afternoon, after I got home from work, I took Erdrique into a fun quest, Haunted Library.  The Haunted Library is a level 8 quest in House Jorasco that can get quite nasty if you aren’t careful.  However, I took Erdrique through the quest without any issues.  Later that afternoon, I took Lorrikk (Level 12 Monk) into Sorrowdusk Isle and similar to Erdrique, I took Lorrikk through the next quest in the Cult of the Six story arc for him, The Temple Outpost: Captives of Cult.  However, I spent a good amount of time collecting slayers and rares out in Sorrowdusk Isle.  I then called it a night.

Wednesday I started off the day with Lorrikk and took him back out into the wilds of Sorrowdusk Isle.  Every once in awhile, my slayer schedule will match up with my nightly quest schedule, in terms of the characters I plan on run, and these past few weeks this has been quite evident with me playing a particular character during the night and then the next day playing the same character for a morning slayer run.  Later that afternoon, I took Hamllin into the Red Fens and gathered some more slayers.  That was the end of the questing for Wednesday.

Thursday was quite an active day.  I kicked the day off by taking Crawlller (Level 6 Ranger), another character from my premium account, into Tangleroot Gorge.  Unfortunately I missed my afternoon run, but later that night I took Garrrin (Level 22 Barbarian/Fury of the Wild) into Haywire’s Foundry on Epic Hard.  I gathered some help from Hellsbain and Friedrice and we moved our way through the quest with some interesting situations but overall we didn’t have too much of a problem.  After we completed Haywire’s Foundry on Epic Hard, Friedrice only needed a little more experience to hit his next level so we headed off over The Last Stand and completed that quest on Epic Hard.  We were expecting a little difficulty keeping Viercha alive but we really didn’t run into any issues.

So overall, it was a nice and productive week overall.  I hope everybody else had a great week as well!!  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Glancing Around in DDO, Quest Runs September 15th to 18th

It was an interesting set of quest runs this week.  To begin with, I didn’t do a slayer run first thing on Monday morning because the game was down for some routine maintenance.  Instead I booted up Neverwinter Nights II and logged in with my level 5 Spirit Shaman, Ragnar, and took him out into the ruins around Highcliff.  However, later that afternoon I logged on with Hamllin (Level 11 Fighter) and I took him into the Tomb of the Shadow Lord.  I had put that run up in the LFM panel and I was about a third of the way through when a pug asked to join me.  I accepted him into the group and then we entered the quest shortly later.  At that point, he told me he was going afk and never returned.  Talk about a little discouraging.  I logged out after that to take care of dinner but logged back on later that night with Larrs (Level 20 Bard/Fatesinger).  Larrs was who I had originally scheduled for a slayer run, so I took him out into the Ruins of Gianthold (Heroic) and collected some more slayers while I prepped for my weekly digital table top game.  After collecting some slayers, I then logged on with Stoorage (Level 10 Fighter) and took him out into Three Barrel Cove to run Guard Duty and Prove Your Worth.  During that time, our digital PNP game was cancelled so I was able to put full attention toward DDO.  I ran Guard Duty on normal, hard, and elite (because Stoorage is only on a premium account) but a fellow guildie joined me for the Prove Your Worth quest and opened it on elite on the first go round :).  After that run, I called it a night.

On Tuesday, I started off the day with some slayer runs with Containment (Level 5 Cleric) who I took out into the Waterworks.  As I started this run, I had also put it up in the LFM panel and I was surprised to get a hit.  A level 6 Ranger joined up with me and we split up and took out the slayers in no time, that was a pleasant surprise.  I wish I could of stayed on longer but I had to log out to get to work.  Later that afternoon, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 18 Druid) and I took him through the first quest of the Disciples of Shadow storyarc: Disciples of Shar.  Keeping up with the theme of the past few days, I had also posted this run in the LFM panel.  I received one request to join and so I brought him along.  I had actually received a second request but the second person never joined our group :(.  We had no problem making our way through the Disciples of Shar on elite.  And then logged back on later than night to run Wapoyei (Level 23 Cleric/Exalted Angel).  I was joined up by our new guildie, Asservo (Level 20 Cleric) and we ran the Chamber of Raiyum (Tomb of the Wizard King) on epic normal.  It was a pretty smooth run with one slight hiccup that we overcame.  We actually got through the quest pretty quickly because Raiyum was actually in the first tower we chose.  After the run, Asservo had to logout but I headed off to An Offering of Blood, which I also ran on epic normal.  I had put that group into the LFM once again and did receive one request to join when I was the last fight.  The requester did join and I finished the quest just as he caught up to me, couldn’t have had any better timing.  I then logged out after that run.

On Wednesday I started off the day by taking Charlock (Level 13 Fighter) out into Sorrowdusk Ilse to collect some more slayers.  This time I didn’t get a single request to join the party.  After collecting some slayers I headed out to work.  Later that afternoon, I logged back on with Hamllin and was joined up with Twotoe and we took on Escort the Expediton out in Threnal and we got that one knocked out, although we did run into a few complications. But needless to say, we did get it done :).  I didn’t play that night because it was a date night, so I spent that with my wife :).

Thursday was a unique day.  I had taken the day off to do some things with my wife so I didn’t get my slayer run in until later in the day.  I took Lorrikk (Level 11 Monk) out into Searing Heights and then after that I logged on with Erdrique and took him out into the quest Delirium. I had put this particular quest up in the LFM panel and received two pug requests once I made it through the drinking challenge.  I brought them in and combined with my hirelings we had little problems getting through it, thankfully!!  However, after that run I called it night.

So the runs this week had a good amount of pugging involved.  No of my groups filled but they were still fun.  I hope everybody else had a fun week as well.  Until next time, thanks for reading and happy hunting!!

Mixture of Runs, April 28 to May 1

This week I had a mixture of some epic level runs, mid-level runs, and a set of lowbie runs.  Early on Monday morning, I logged on with a character from my premium account, Suppply (Level 8 Paladin).  I was originally scheduled to take Suppply into the Tangleroot Gorge explorer area but realized I had finished that explorer area (slayer, rares, and explorer points) so I then took him into Three Barrel Cove started to rack up slayers, rares, and explorers in that zone.  I had some taking Suppply into Three Barrel Cove for the first, swinging his dwarven battle axe around to take down the multitude of pirates.  After picking up a few explorer points I called it for the morning to head to work.  I logged on later Monday afternoon after work and prior to dinner with Erdrqiue (Level 10 Druid).  Erdrique currently has level 11 banked and is steadily making his way up to rank 55.  I still have a large number of level 8 quests to tackle and this afternoon I had planned to take on the Haunted Library.  I’ve always found it fun to run this quest and looked forward to tackling it with Erdrique.  I entered on elite and didn’t really encounter and real issues.  After I made it through the Haunted Library, I logged out to take care of dinner and to do some chores.  I logged back on Monday night, while also tackling my weekly digital table top game in Maptool, with my newest character, my half-orc barbarian, Berann (Level 7).  Even though Berann is level 7, I decided to take him into Korthos to get that favor and those quests knocked out.  The only quest he still needed was Misery’s Peak.  So I took him through the Korthos Wildnerness zone and through Misery’s Peak.  I wasn’t moving very fast, especially my attention divided between DDO and my weekly digital top game.  After that I called it a night.

Now Tuesday was an unusual day.  The only thing I was able to do was to do some character maintenance and some guild renown tracking.  My wife and I made Tuesday night our date night because she had to work on our typical date night, Wednesday.  I also got home too late from work on Tuesday to log in prior to dinner.  So Tuesday, I didn’t see any questing time at all .

That changed on Wednesday though!!  Wednesday morning I logged in with Sludgge (Level 20 Rogue/Shadowdancer) and took him into the Ruins of Gianthold on Heroic explorer zone.  Like Garrrin and Larrs, I’m just obsessed with  getting this zone completed for these guys.  After I ran Sludgge through some Stormfist slayers, I logged and headed out to work.  I logged back that afternoon with Erdrique and took on a quest that is normally hated by a lot of people: Faithful Departed.  Again, working on his Level 8 quests, I hit it up on elite and was able to take out the drow before they destroyed the venerated mummies.  The last might instantly generated a green, and maybe even a yellow, dungeon alert.  However, I was able to complete the quest, with that last fight being the only true issue.  After the run through the Faithful Departed, I logged out and logged back in with Hamllin.  Earlier in the week I was supposed to take on Gladewatch Outpost Defense but I couldn’t because I got home late form work.  Took advantage of the time now and entered the quest on elite.  Although it was rough going, I did finally complete it.  After that run I then logged on with Sludgge.  Now the last time I had tried to run Sludgge through a quest, it was through A Small Problem on epic normal where I had a tough time at the second from last fight.  This time I came in more prepared and blasted all the way through it until the end fight.  At the end fight, I was taking on the worg when the tieflings had started to enter the picture, at which point I kept getting feared.  If all things…getting feared.  This made me realize how pitiful Sludgge’s gear really is.  Needless to say, I failed at that point with Brawnpits getting killed.  However, I was bound and determined to get throug A Small Problem that night, so I gathered up some new supplies, including some greater heroism scrolls, and took it on again.  This time, I didn’t get feared but I still had some difficulties at the end fight.  However, I did make it through it.  Now I have to worry about Partycrashers .  After taking on A Small Problem, twice, I logged out for the night.

On Thursday, I was scheduled to bring on Erdrique for some slayer runs in Sorrowdusk Isle.  Erdrique only needs one more rare encounter (Noozer) and then the only thing he’ll have left to do out there will be the slayers.  So I brought him in and took some ogres, trolls, scorpions, hellhounds, and spiders but didn’t get lucky enough to get Noozer.  After that run, I logged for the morning to head to work.  I logged back on that afternoon with Hamllin and he was scheduled to finish up Old Grey Garl.  So I took him into Three Barrel Cove and headed to the waterfall where Old Grey Garl’s tomb is located.  Hamllin had little difficulty taking out the blackbone skeletons, gargoyles, wights, scorpions, necromancers, and oozes.  After that run I logged out to make dinner but logged back shortly later  with Wapoyei (Level 22 Cleric/Exalted Angel), since I didn’t get him through his slayer run, and I took him into the High Road.  While in the High Road I got a pretty shot of the sunset .  After a run through the High Road, I logged out and back on with another character from my premium account, Crawlller (Level 4 Ranger).  Crawlller is slowly making his way through the Harbor and as such he completed the Smuggler’s Warehouse on normal, hard, and elite and finished up his Waterworks Slayer area.  I called it a night after that run.

So the initial runs for the week were quite varied.  I got some extra play time on Thursday but lost some play time on Tuesday.  Not a back week overall though.  Hope everybody had a food week and I look forward to the weekend with the guild renown bonus.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

A Run Down of Quest Activities, April 21st to April 24

The week of Good Friday was an abnormal week for me, however this past week was more of a typical week.  The only change to my normal runs was that I also tried to get in as many runs as I could for the Festival of the Traveler.  The week’s runs started out with me taking Berann (Level 7 Barbarian) out into the wilds of Korthos Island for my slayer runs of the week.  So far, I have really enjoyed playing my half-orc falchion wielding barbarian.  Although I haven’t done anything quite challenging yet with him, I like his “feel” and enjoy the play style.  After I ran around and cleared out Korthos Island, I then logged out to head to work.  Once I got back home, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 10 Druid) and took him through a round of the Festival of the Traveler to me get re-oriented with egg hunting route.  After I ran that, I logged on with my other heroic true reincarnated character, Hamllin (Level 8 Fighter).  I was scheduled to take Hamllin through Three Barrel Cove and into the Garl’s Tomb: The Troglodyte’s Get.  The Troglodyte’s Get can be a pretty touch quest if you aren’t prepared to handle a ton of slow, hold person, and fire ball spells being cast at you from a multitude of troglodyte shamans and warlocks.  I made it through the Troglodyte’s Get with little problems and then logged out to make dinner.  I then logged on later that night (while also being logged on with Digital PNP group) and brought on Rimuldar (Level 21 Wizard/Magister).  The first thing I did was to take Rimuldar through a circuit of the Festival of the Traveler.  I then noticed that Rimuldar had never completed the Web of Chaos chain so I started that out with Lords of Dust on Epic Normal.  Using my onyx panther, owl bear, and a exalted angel hireling I had no difficulty getting through it.  Since I was also playing the digital PNP game, things were slow going so I was only able to make it through Lords of Dust.  Will need to hit up the other quests next time.  After that run, I needed to log out for the night.

Tuesday morning started out with a quick run of the the Festival of the Traveler and then a slayer run with Rimuldar.  I was planning on working out in the High Road but since I couldn’t get to Eveningstar (without using the Hall of Heroes from the login screen) I instead went to the Vale of Twilight since I hadn’t been out there in awhile.  It was good to get into the Vale, even over level.  After gathering some Shavarath Slayers, I logged out to head to work.  Later that afternoon, I logged back on with Erdrique and did another run of the Festival of the Traveler.  I then started to take Erdrique out to Three Barrel Cove to do Scondrel’s Run.  The Scondrel’s Run was the last quest Erdrique needed to finish up Three Barrel Cove.  As I was getting ready to head out there, Twotoe logged on and joined me.  We quickly tromped through the pirates of Three Barrel Cove and then entered Scondrel’s Run on elite.  The Scondrel’s Run is perhaps the first quest where you encounter significant numbers of minotaurs, but they didn’t slow us down at all.  After the run through Scondrel’s Run both Twotoe and I logged out to take care of dinner and other things.  I logged back later that night with a character from my premium account, Containment (Level 3 Cleric).  Because Containment is on my premium account, I can’t open quests directly on elite, and this night I was planning on finishing up the Baudry Cartamon Chain on elite, since I had already ran it on normal and hard.  So I started the chain, entering Protect Baudry’s Interest, on elite.  As I was working through the quest, Hellbanisher logged on and he had just finished going through a heroic true reincarnation.  So after I got through the first quest, I joined up with Hellbanisher and helped get through Redepmtion and Sacrifices and then we came out to the Harbor where he opened the entire Baudry chain on elite (Protect Baudry’s Interest, Stop Hazadill’s Shipment, Retrieve the Stolen Goods), as well as The Kobold’s New Ringleader, Durk’s Got a Secret, and Walk the Butcher’s Path.  During the run through Durk’s Got a Secret I was fortunate enough to pull a Muckbane .  After all of those runs we called it a night.

Wednesday morning was a light day in the world of DDO for me.  With the DDO being down Wednesday morning because of the hot fix, I played Neverwinter Nights II instead.  I logged on with Spirit Shaman Ragnar and took his party through some of the crypts just north of Fort Locke.  After work, I logged onto DDO Hamllin and took him through the The Forgotten Caverns.  After that I brought Erdrique back on to do another circuit of the Festival of the Traveler.  I then called it a night and spent the rest of the night with my wife as it was date night .

Thursday was quite an active day.  I started the day with Stoorage (Level 9 Fighter) and took him into Three Barrel Cove for my morning slayer run.  After gathering the majority of the explorers, I logged and headed out to work.  I then logged back on with Erdrique and ran through the Festival of the Traveler, Sorrowdusk Isle, and the first part of Grey Moon Waning (The Grey Moon’s Den: The Trollish Scourge).  I then logged out to take care of dinner and logged back on later that night with Stoorage once again.  Like Containment, Stoorage is one of my characters on my premium account and he was in the process of finishing up the Assault on Splinterskull on elite.  Khameltoe logged on and offered to help me finish up Assault on Splinterskull (Doom of the Witch-Doctor: The Way to Zulkash, Doom of the Witch Doctor: Zulkash, the Herald of Woe, The Last Move: The Way to Yarkuch, The Last Move:Yarkuch’s Last Stand).   After we got through out, I asked Khameltoe if he could open the Sharn Syndicate series for me on elite.  We then headed off and completed: Stand Your Ground, Dirty Laundry, The Stormrever Fresco, The Bookbinder Rescue, and Repossession).  That just left me with Come Out and Slay to worry about.  We called it a night after those runs.

My quest runs over the Easter Holiday weekend were relatively light compared to my usual weekend runs.  I had Good Friday off from work, so I didn’t do a typical slayer run like I would on a normal Friday.  However, I did log on with a few of my characters throughout the day, bound and determined to take it easy on Good Friday, and played around with their inventory.  See I have this grand scheme concocted that will take some time to get in place but once it does, I hope all of my inventory issues will be taken care of.  So I really didn’t get any questing in until Friday night when I logged on with Erdrique (Level 10 Druid) and decided to take him through the Sentinel of Stormreach chain (Bargain of Blood, The Black Loch, Storm the Beaches, and The Tide Turns).  I completed all of the quests on elite without much difficulty, using only my hireling, my pet (Fang), and a summoned monsters.  I was afraid that the traps in Bargain of Blood and in The Tide Turns would cause me some issues but I had no problems bypassing them for the most part.  Although my cleric hireling didn’t fair so well in the traps in The Tide Turns.  The only other hitch I ran into was the annoying lag that I always get while running The Black Loch when I enter the pirate ship lagoon.  Not sure what it is, probably some drawback issues or something, but I always wind up getting a good amount of lag in there.  But besides that the quests ran really smoothly.  I called a night after that chain.

Now, I didn’t actually plan on logging in on Saturday night, as I have started a new thing where I decided to spend every third Saturday night of the month relaxing with my wife and watching the plethora of movies that are awaiting us on our Netflix list.  However, she had to unexpectedly go into work which allowed me to pop into DDO for a little while.  So I brought Erdrique back on decided to just focus on his next slayer area: Sorrowdusk Isle.  I ran through the zone a few times and during my adventuring through the jungles of the Isle, Hellbanisher logged in.  He found some time to hit some runs as well and was working hard to get his main character up to level 20 to do another heroic TR.  We chatted for awhile and then I had to log out as I had received a call from my wife letting me know that she was done with her shift and heading home.  At that point Hellbanisher headed into the Shroud hoping to get what he needed to finish off a greensteel greatsword.

On Easter Sunday, I had originally planned on logging in at around 10 pm EST.  I actually always plan on logging at that time on Sundays, but over the past few months I have found myself logging in at around 11 pm due to falling behind in other things, primarily in doing chores and getting my workout/run in.  Easter Sunday found no exception, as I was running behind once again and didn’t get a chance to log into DDO until close to 11 pm or so.  I brought on Cantlin (Level 11 Sorcerer) and took him into the Bloody Crypt.  Another guildie, Twotoe, joined me and we took on the Bloody Crypt on elite.  The one thing about the Bloody Crypt, besides the generous amount experience you receive on completion, is the large number of chests spread throughout the dungeon.  I was actually kind of glad about this because it prompted me to buy another backpack slot for Cantlin, who sorely needed it, and because the backpack slots happen to be on sale this week .  Twotoe and I had no problems running through the quest and I received well over 16,000 experience on its completion .  After that, I had to call it a night.

So although the Easter weekend wasn’t as active for me in DDO as a typical weekend is, I still had some interesting runs logged.  I hope everybody else had a fun Easter weekend as well!!  Thanks for reading and happy hunting!!

A Look Back at Activities During the Week, April 7 to 10

My DDO activities over this past week varied from general character maintenance to some epic quest runs and a variety of heroic runs, including some runs with my two Heroic True Reincarnation characters, Erdrique and Hamllin.  The week started with a Monday morning slayer run with my level 20 Ranger/Shiradi Champion, Kolll.  Kolll is currently exploring the wilds of the King’s Forest.  I took him around that area for about 10 to 15 minutes before I had to go work.  Later on Monday Night, I logged Kolll back on, as I was scheduled to take bring him on for routine nightly runs.  I took Kolll into the quest Fathom the Depths.  I entered Fathom the Depths on Epic Normal and had a good time taking on the sahaughin in the quests and rescuing the Raveneye Drow.

On Tuesday morning, I had originally planned on taking Rimuldar into the High Road Wilderness zone, but instead I wound dealing with some inventory issues.  However, I did get some questing in when I got back home from work.  I brought on Erdrique and completed the last two quests in the Assault on Splinterskull Chain (The Last Move: The Way to Yarkuch and The Last Move: Yarkuch’s Last Stand).  After I took Erdrique through those two quests, I logged out to make dinner.  I logged back on later that night with Kanndar (Level 11 Paladin).  I took him into Devil’s Assault and had a fun time in there, playing around with his snow elemental.  After Devil’s Assault I was able to hit level 11 so after I leveled I took him into Tomb of the Crimson Heart so that I could start to reflag for the Bloody Crypt (because I still need that one on elite).  After that, I logged out for the night.

My runs on Wednesday start out with Kanndar again.  I was scheduled to take him into Searing Heights for awhile.  So I brought him on took on the Blood Tide and other denizens of the Heights before work.  Later that afternoon, I logged on with Hamllin and took him into Three Barrel Cove.  While in Three Barrel Cove, I took him into the quest, The Legend of Two-toed Tobias.  I then logged for the rest of the day to spend date night with my wife .

Thursday started out with Harrgon (Level 9 Favored Soul) and I took him into Tangleroot Gorge prior to work.  Later that afternoon, I brought on Erdrique and was joined by Hellslonging and we entered Sorrowdusk Isle and took on the first two quests of the Grey Moon Chain: The Iron Mines-Freeing Achka and The Iron Mines-Justice for Grust.  After that, I logout to make dinner.  I logged back on later that night with Hamllin and I was joined by Hellslonging once again and we took on Three Barrel Cove and the quest Ghost of A Chance and took the pirates of Captain Goldhorn.  We had little trouble and got the quest knocked out.  After that Hellslonging had to call it a night so I took Hamllin into Tangleroot Gorge for about a half hour to gather some slayers.  I logged out after that for the night.

So the activity for me in DDO wasn’t quite as active as normal but it was still quite diverse, which makes it fun.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!
