Questing in the First Weekend of March, Quest Runs March 4th to 6th

Well if the title of this post doesn’t tell you anything else, it does show you how much back log I have since today is March 28th and I’m just now getting to my post about my questing activities over the first weekend of March.  I swear I’ll catch up…maybe…

Looking back at those quest runs, I noted quite an array of runs that included some dual boxing, some slayers, some epic runs, and a look at the Anniversary Party.  I started the weekend runs by taking Suppply (Level 10 Paladin) and Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) into the Searing Heights during one of my dual boxing sessions.  During this particular run, Suppply collected all of his rare encounters, located all of the explorers, and collected 135 slayers.  Harrgon also did fairly well getting over the 200 slayer mark with the same 135 slayers.  They defeated the First Mate, Smolder, Hazai Haatha, Giallo, Calcine, and Ghamzee.    During my afternoon questing, I took Erdrique (Level 27 Rogue/Grandmaster of Flowers) back out into the Sands of Menechtarun for some slayer runs.  During a quick run out there, Erdrique collected seven gnolls and 88 scorrow.  He also took the following named scorrow: Mendexethazz, Volrune the Curate, and Workan-Kull.  Later that night, I took Erdrique back out into the desert for some slayers before completing some other quests.  This time Erdrique collected 228 gnolls, 91 scorrow, and 104 undead slayers.  During this run I took out Yuurugh, Whirling Ozann, Palumak, Commander Errulf, Haraja, Mendexethazz, and Utach.  I looted the scimitar Mirage from Utach’s quest.  I also collected 750 slayers for the scorrow area and a monster manual deed for zombies (Hunter III for 1,770 experience).  After tromping through the desert, I headed off and made my way through the Anniversary Party.  I was able to defeat all of the developers and the overlord to get five party favors.  I then too Erdrique into Sschindylryn to make my way to final quest of the City of Portals, The Portal Opens.  As I made my way to the quest I picked a few more slayers for both the drow (seven) and the children of Lolth (four).  Within the Portal Opens, I defeated at least one priestess of Lolth, and the following orange named drow Shev’aal, Namajj Hru’un, Utheo Myar, Sorntran Arkenep, and Chaszoj’ryn.  I picked up a commendation for the druid’s of the king forest and one for the purple dragon knights.  I also looted a Blade of the High Priestess when the quest was completed.  For a quest reward, I selected 24 commendations of valor and for a storyarc reward I picked up a Slaver’s Hand Crossbow.

My quest runs on Saturday were quite challenging.  I first took Erdrique into the quest Don’t Drink the Water on epic hard.  I didn’t run into any issues until I reached the green dragon, Tharmalos, at the end of the quest.  Facing off against the powerful green dragon, I had died twice and once I used a raise cake to get back up.  But I did complete the quest, eventually.  As I made my way to the final fight, I picked up a monster manual deed for mudmen account wide, hunter II.  I was also able to defeat a few orange named dire bears and completed the optional objective of discovering the yuan-ti’s secret chest.  At the end of the quest, I picked up a commendation for War Wizards and as a quest reward I picked up 23 commendations of Valor.  After the rough run, I then took Erdrique back into the Underdark.  I picked up another 33 slayers on my way to the quest In the Belly of the Beast.  This was another difficult quest that I decided to try on epic hard.  Although I did get through the quest, I died four times (three times inside the belly of the great purple worm) and had to re-enter the quest once.  I completed the optional objectives for defeated Zeslyn and bluffing the freedom for the purple dragon knight.  Inside the arena, I took out a few orange dire bears before I was attacked by wave after wave of enemies.  At the end of the quest I picked up two commendations, one for the villagers of Eveningstar and one for the clerics of Amaunater.  As a quest reward, I picked up 24 commendations of Valor.  I also collected another monster manual deed, this one for rust monsters, which gave me the account wide reward for rust monster expertise.

Coming across a magical barrier early on In the Belly of the Beast.

To close out the weekend, I dual boxed with Suppply and Harrgon once again.  I took  them into Searing Heights and into the quest Bargain of Blood.  In the Searing Heights, Suppply collected his last 138 slayers to complete the area and Harrgon picked up another 224 slayers and reached the 400 slayer mark.  Harrgon also picked up all of the explorer points  The rare encounters I came across were Calcine, Ghamzee, Cruor Russo, Giallo, Hazai Haatha, and Shute Ruggzen.  Although the exploration of the Searing Heights went well, the quest run through Bargain of Blood on elite did not.  This was primarily because I was trying to rush through the quest, which never seems to end well for me.  In fact, Harrgon suffered seven deaths in the quest, who was the primary driver for this run.  I did defeat a first mate and completed the optional objective for destroying the assassination logbook and I met up with the House Deneith party.  Harrgon collected three mysterious remnants while Suppply picked up 16.  Overall, it was just a rough night in the quest.

Harrgon contemplating the majesty of the Searing Heights.

So it wasn’t a bad weekend overall.  I was able to make my way  through a number of quests that I haven’t had a lot of experience making my way through and one quest I had never completed before, that being In the Belly of the Beast.  However, not all of my runs were successful, which is also good, allowing the challenge to still be there, especially in the lower level quests.  Although I did get my revenges in Bargain of Blood.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting in the Underdark!!

Last Weekend of February, Quest Runs February 26th to February 28th

My quest runs during the last weekend of February started out to be quite productive but as the weekend carried out I didn’t get as much done as I would have liked.  Kicking things off on Friday morning, February 26th I took Garrrin (Level 23 Barbarian/Fury of the Wild) into the majestic King’s Forest for my morning slayer run.  As Garrrin made his presence known to the denizens of the King’s Forest he picked up another 24 slayers (including a couple of dire bears), picked up an explorer point (Eliminster’s 4th message), and completed the rare encounters for freeing the purple dragon knight from his slaver collar (using brute strength to snap it) and money or life (freeing the villager from the bandits).  When I came back from work, I then logged on with Hamllin (Level 18 Fighter) and I took him into the challenge Lava Caves: Time is Money.  Hamllin completed the objectives for collecting 100 crystals, defeating the fire giant warlock, and sending kobolds through the teleporter 200 times.  Hamllin picked up 156 crystallized magma shards as a reward and gained enough experience to move up to level 18.

On Friday night, it was Erdrique’s (Level 26 Rogue/Grand Master of Flowers) turn to get in on the action.  Erdrique made his way through the Underdark to get to the portal to Sschindylryn.  While making his way to the portal to Sschindylryn, Erdrique freed three slayers from their collars, slayed the drider rogue, Hastrunn, and picked up another 22 slayers which granted up past the 200 total slayer mark for the Underdark.  In Sschindylryn, I defeated at least one blademaster, found missives one, five, and 11, defeated 16 drow (hitting the 10 slayer mark), defeated seven children of Lolth, and defeated Soldirn Dun’robar.  I then entered the quest The House of Rusted Blades on epic hard.  Making my way through the quest, I completed the optional objective for applying the corrosive liquor on all of the weapon racks.  From the end chest, I picked up the Duergar Waraxe of the Weapon Master and picked up 20 Commendations of Valor for a quest reward.  I then headed back into Sschindylryn to make my way to the next quest, The House of Broken Chains.  During my second romp through Sschindylryn, I picked up another 45 drow slayers and 5 more children of Lolth slayers (giving me credit for reaching 25 and 50 drow slayer marks and 10 chldren of Lolth slayer marks).  I also found missives 2, 7, and 15 and defeated the rare encoutners Soldirn Dun’robar and Tras’ekhan.  In the House of Broken Chains, I completed the optional objectives from freeing 5, 10, and the rest of slaves (except for those at the end fight).  I was awarded a Commendation: War Wizard from the end chest and picked up another 21 Commendations of Valor.  I called it a night after that run.

On Saturday, I took Erdrique back into Sschindylryn to tackle the next quest, The House of Death Undone.  While making my way through Sschindylryn I picked up another 17 drow slayers and another six children of Lolth slayers.  The House of Death Undone was an interesting run for Erdrique.  I entered the quest on epic hard.  I took out six astral panthers, at least 10 blademasters, one priestess of Lolth, and four guardian panthers.  I also completed the optional objectives for defeating Silan Szind, destroying up to 36 undead, and destroying all of the necromantic cauldrons.  I also had the unfortunate situation of blowing up my own chest in one of the cauldron rooms as well.  Erdrique also picked up 16 mysterious remnants, a Commendation: Clerics of Amaunter, a Commendation: War Wizard, and 21 Commendations of Valor as a quest reward.  That was the only quest run I was able to complete on Saturday as I worked on some character maintenance as well.

Making our way to the quest House of Death Undone.

Time to start the quest the House of Death Undone.

To close the weekend out, I logged on with Sludgge (Level 21 Rogue/Shadowdancer) and I took him into Haywire Foundry on epic normal.  While making his way through VON 4, Sludgge picked up two monster manual deeds, Warforged Exteminator I (423 experience) and Fire Elemental Exterminator (1,130 experience).  He also collected another 32 Token Fragments of the Twelve,  He completed the optional objectives for defeating the elementals in the beginning of the quest, defeating RC2 and RC1, turning off the flame vents in the forge room, and defeating 10 mithral defenders on the mad dash out of the quest.  As a quest reward, Sludgge picked up 11 Commendations of Valor.  Once I made it out of the quest I called it a night.

Sluddge starting his exploration of Haywire Foundry.

As I mentioned earlier, the questing over the weekend started out to be extremely productive.  I did run into some maintenance issues of the weekend though that kept me from making it an extremely productive weekend.  My quest runs were dominated with epic questing though, which is typically unusual for me.  Either way, it was still a fun weekend.  I hope everybody else had a great weekend as well!!  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting in the Underdark!!

Last Week of February, Quest Runs February 22nd to February 25th

My quest runs over this past week were impacted by some travel I had to do for work.  I had some training to attend in Raleigh on Tuesday and Wednesday.  This impacted my quest runs on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as I had to travel Monday after work from the North Carolina Coast back to Raleigh.  However, I did take my computer with me so I did get some questing in :).

Before the traveling started, I did get a regular slayer run in.  I had another opportunity to do some dual boxing as I was scheduled to take Crawlller (Level 7 Ranger) into Three Barrel Cove.  So shortly after logging in with Crawlller (who is on my Premium account), I also logged on Cannock (Level 8 Druid) and I took them both into shores of Three Barrel Cove.  While exploring the beautiful Three Barrel Cove landscape, they picked up another 58 slayers, discovered another four of the explorer points, and defeated Cannoneer Strinati.  From his chest, Crawlller picked up a Hair Dye: Snow.  However, because of the traveling time, that was the only quest run I completed on Monday.

Crawlller stumbling across the bell tower in Three Barrel Cove.

On Tuesday, I did a slayer run with Berann (Level 9 Barbarian) and Containment (Level 8 Cleric).  With Berann from my VIP account and Containment from my Premium account, I dual boxed them through Tangleroot Gorge.  Berann acquired another 108 slayers from the run and Containment picked up his last 42 slayers to hit the 1,500 slayer mark.  They also found and defeated Xassak, Vilesting, Kroshk, and rescued Jana.  The only thing Contaiment needs now for Tangleroot Gorge is find and defeat Gharjat and Kornak and then he will have the entire slayer area completed.  In the afternoon, I logged on with Hamllin (Level 18 Fighter) and I took him into the challenge Lava Caves: Time is Money.  I completed the collection of 100 crystals, buying less than nine minutes of time, and sending kobolds through teleporters 200 times.  Hamllin received 156 crystallized magma shards for the sucessful run.  After that run, I took Hamllin out into the Sands of Menectharun to continue his slayer runs out there.  In his explorations Hamllin picked up another 143 gnoll slayers, 73 scorrow slayers, and 62 undead slayers.  Hamllin us came across Mendexethazz, Stinkpelt, Lieutenant Ayurro, Whirling Ozann, and Thumak the Mad.  That night I logged on with Wapoyei (Level 24 Cleric/Divine Crusader) an I took him into Sschindylryn and into the quest House of Death Undone.  While in Sschindylryn I picked up another 11 drow slayers and 4 more children of Lolth slayers.  I also defeated Enrhiikuz, the mind flayer.  In the quest House of Death Undone, I completed the optional objectives for defeating 12, 24, and 36 undead drow, destroyed the cauldrons in the priestess chambers and the servants chambers, and defeated Silan Szind.  Some more notable encounters including fighting 13 Blademasters, four astral panthers, an acolyte of Lolth, and two guardian panthers.  Wapoyeie did suffer one defeat in the end fight.  For rewards I did pick up 10 mysterious remnants, one commendation: Druids of the King’s Forest, the Staff of the Necromancer, and 19 commendations of valor (quest reward).  I called it a night after that run.

Because of traveling back home and since Wednesday is also my weekly date night with my beautiful wife, I didn’t get a chance to play through any quests on Wednesday.  I didn’t get back to questing until Thursday morning when I logged on with Rimuldar (Level 23 Wizard/Draconic Incarnation) and I took him out into the King’s Forest.  During his hunting in this majestic forest, he collected another 36 slayers, which included five dire bears.  I also completed the Slaves to Many Masters rare encounter.  In the afternoon, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 26 Rogue/Lengendary Dreadnaught) and I took him through the Cannith Challenge Lava Caves: Colossal Crystal.  I figured after struggling in trying to complete Kobold Island: Short Cuts that instead I would run the other challenges to just convert those ingredients over to those that I need.  I was able to complete the objectives for collecting at least one colossal crystal and clearing out the arena.  Erdrique picked up 272 epic jade scorpions as his reward.  Later that night, I logged on with Berann and Containment and dual boxed with them for the second time in the week.  In my rotation, Berann was the next character scheduled to be played and he needed to complete Freshen the Air on elite.  So I took Berann, and dragged Containment with me, and ran through Freshen the Air on elite.  While adventuring through the quest Berann picked up a monster manual deed for troglodyte hunter (gaining over 1,600 experience) and I compelted the optional objectives for slaying Chief Shyrasser, the shamans, and minimum number of troglodytes.  After completing Freshen the Air, I headed off to the Necropolis to take on the first few quests in the Necro I series.  For these runs, I was joined by Nitewalker, and we headed off into the Tomb of the Crimson Heart.  Nitewalker had started the quest and had a good portion of it done by the time I got in there.  I didn’t remember collecting or completing any of the optional objectives.  After we made our way through Tomb of the Crimson Heart, we then headed into Tomb of the Immortal Heart.  While making our way through the tomb, Berann picked up 20 mysterious remnants and obtained another monster manual deed for ghasts (ghast hunter, giving over 4,000 experience).  We also broke of the summoning circles for fire, earth, and water.  We also defeated the Priest of the Crimson Heart and Prelate Abiram.  After this run, I had to call it a night.

Overall, it was mixture of runs during the limited amount of time I had this week.  However, they were fun runs and I was able to continue making progress on a few of my characters.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Tackling House Szind

One of the quests that you need to complete for the City of Portals city arc is the quest The House of Death Undone.  Like the other quests in this story arc, it occurs in the landscape area of Sschindylryn.  It is located in the eastern portion of the city and you have to maneuver around a few gates to get to it.  The quest takes place in the great drow stronghold of House Szind.  The quest giver is Oryne Belamadin who is located in Eveningstar.

Making the way to the entrance of House Szind.

The House of Death Undone is a unique quest in two respects: 1). dealing with “respawns” that are from killed enemies and 2). being engaged with some drow political dissension within a powerful drow house.  The layout of the House Szind fortress is also pretty fun, at least to me.  The largest portion of the fortress is a grand room that has three different levels.  The rest of the rooms are broken off of this main grand room.  The other rooms include a library, a laboratory, the servants quarters, a small temple, training room, kitchen, dining room, matron’s chambers, priestess’s chambers, and the ritual chamber.  The primary objective to completing this quest is to take out the necromantic cauldrons using some special flash stones that will exploded when they are placed inside the cauldrons.  The next objective is to take out the head necromancer, Relig.

Entering the primary room of House Szind.

Taking on the drow of House Szind in the main room.

The main room of House Szind is quite a spectacle.

The first thing you will need to do in this quest is to find the flash stones.  These stones are located in laboratory which is located to the North of the main hall on the lower floor.  To get to the flash stones you will have to defeat some of the House Szind necromancers and their zombie pets as well as some guards.  These necromancers also have some pet dretches to throw into the mix.  The flash stones are located in something that looks like a desk/cabinet and they look like a parchment in your inventory.

Wapoyei making his way to the laboratory to find the flash stones.

Battling the House Szind forces to get the flash stones from the laboratory.

After you pick up the flash stones you can then go off into various directions.  One of the major quest objectives is to go to the library, which is basically due east of the laboratory, and destroy the cauldron housed in there.  However, you can also head to the south to enter some of the other optional areas.  One of these areas includes a path that leads to a small temple.  Inside this small temple is an orange named Priestess of Lolth and her red named pet, an astral panther.  After you defeat the Priestess of Lolth and her pet you gain access to a chest and you might find a key to the kitchen.  Using this key can allow you to get access to the ritual chamber where the last fight occurs.  This key will be necessary if you don’t have a rogue or another party member who can pick locks and open locked doors as the primary door to the ritual chamber is locked.  The kitchen key gives the party a back way into the ritual chamber.

Heading to the southern portion of the house after leaving the laboratory.

Encountering the priestess and her pet in the Temple.

Picking up the kitchen key from the temple.

The kitchen key is a sickly green in color.

Another optional area is to enter the servants quarters.  In this area you will come across some more cauldrons and one of the optional objectives is to destroy these cauldrons.  As you progress through this room you will also encounter a number of zombies, and collecting up to 36 slain zombies is also another set of optional objectives (12, 24, and 36 drow zombies).  In the servants quarters you might also find the kitchen key.

Making our way further south into the servants quarters.

Battling the necromancers, zombies, and guards in the servants quarters.

Time to destroy a cauldron.

Up close and personnel with an undead drow necromancer.

Eventually you will have to make your way back to the library.  The library is the arcane center for House Szind and it is also where one of the cauldrons is located and it needs to be destroyed with a flash stone.  The cauldron that needs to be destroyed is actually in a side room to the library that can only be unlocked with a blue key that is in the main portion of the library.  The cauldron is also protected by two more astral panthers and there is also a chest in that room under an interesting drow portrait.

Another optional route is to make your way up to the kitchen which is on the second level of the fortress.  The route through the kitchen will eventually take you to the matron mother’s chambers and to her daughter’s chambers.  When you get to this part of the quest, you will over hear the priestess plotting the demise of your matron mother which you can then use to barter with the matron mother, therefore embroiling yourself into the dynamics of the drow political structure and maneuvering.  During this conversation with the matron mother you can either side with the matron mother and have the optional objective for defeating her daughter and then being granted the optional objective for destroying the cauldron in the daughter’s chamber or you can decide to fight and destroy the matron mother.

A quick look at the matron mother’s chambers.

Being rewarded after taking out the treacherous daughter of the matron mother.

After defeating the daughter or the matron mother, you can then make your way to the ritual chamber to fight the head necromancer.  The ritual chamber is a large room that has a few low level ramps.  The head necromancer, Relig, is surrounded by House Szind guards, drow zombies, assassins, and necromancers.  This fight can actually get quite hectic.  The fight doesn’t actually start until after you talk to Relig allowing you time to buff your party, particularly with deathward.  After you defeat Relig you need to destroy the two cauldrons in the ritual chamber to complete the quest.

Wapoyei making his way through the hallway to the ritual chamber.

Entering the ritual chamber.

Fighting the head wizard head on.

The types of enemies you encounter in this quest are primarily various versions of drow and undead drow.  However, you will encounter dretches, astral panthers, guardian panthers, spiders, and driders as well.  The traps all consist of spell wards and that one web snare trap that also spawns spiders along with a spell ward.  There are also a few hidden doors as well.

Overall, the House of Death Undone is fun and challenging quest.  The last fight in particular can be quite challenging and you might need to retreat and draw the enemies out in a more manageable fashion, especially if you don’t have a good form of crowd control.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting in the House of Death Undone.

Summing Up the Weekend, February 19th to February 21st

Last weekend was a relatively light weekend for me.  This was primarily because it was the third weekend in February and I always make the third Saturday of the month a weekend date night with my wife.  I also wasn’t able to get any “extra” runs in the game between my chores.  However, I did get some quest runs in on Friday and Sunday.

To start things off on Friday morning, I took Lorrikk (Level 13 Monk) and Stoorage (Level 14 Fighter) out into the wild jungles of Sorrowdusk Isle.  During this run, Lorrikk didn’t pick up any of the rare encounters and only 33 slayers.  Stoorage already had the area maxed out.  In the afternoon, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 26 Rogue/Legendary Dreadnaught) and I took him into the challenge, Kobold Island: Short Cuts once again.  Unfortunately, I failed at this attempt once again but I did defeat the red named horned devil and succubus and doing so I picked up a hunter monster manual deeds for the succubus and got over 9,000 experience as a reward.  I logged back on with Erdrique later that night I was joined by Hellorcish and we headed out into the King’s Forest to complete the quest The Lost Thread.  While in the King’s Forest, I picked up another 43 slayers and completed the optional objectives for the former neighbors, defeating Yarabaro and the fugitive medusa, and for locating Eliminster’s 23rd message.  Once we made it into the The Lost Thread, we freed 10+ slaves as well as the Cormyian War Wizard.  I also picked up a Commendation: War Wizards in the end chest.  For a quest reward I was offered 17 Commendations of Valor.

After we completed The Lost Thread, Hellorcish called it a night.  I continued on and headed into The Battle for Eveningstar on epic hard.  I completed the optional objective for lighting all of the torches and in the end chest I picked up another Commendation: Purple Dragon Knights.  I also picked up the cloak, Drow Piwafwi.  For a quest reward, I picked up another 17 Commendations of Valor and for the story arc, I received another Commendation: Purple Dragon Knights.  After I completed the story arc, I then headed out into the Underdark to locate the entrance and portal Sschindylryn.  It was Erdrique’s first time in the Underdark explorer area.  I picked up 195 slayers; defeated two priestesses of Lolth, 2 blademasters, 4 purple worms, Slavemaster Banister of House Avithou, and Taskmaster Uthimez; and located the portal gate to Sschindylryn, Boneyard, portal gate to Riz Malog, cave of the elements, Daycrystals, Overlook, Nessaleesa’s Garden, Dragon’s Roost, grand waterfall, Tranquility Groove, and the spider hatchery.  After these discoveries I called it a night.

Erdrique sending down a comet into the middle of battle in the Battle for Eveningstar.

My runs on Sunday were much simpler.  I dual boxed with Stoorage and Cantlin (Level 13 Sorcerer).  I was scheduled to take Stoorage through some quests that night and he still needed to make it through Purge the Heretics.  As I took them through the quest, I completed the optional objectives for killing the halfling mercenaries and the commoners.  I then moved over to do the quest Gladewatch Outpost.  I didn’t have any issues after I staged the commander in here hiding spot.  As I was slaughtering the monstrous invading horde, Stoorage picked up a monster manual deed for hobgoblin exterminator and received over 2,000 experience for the effort.  After that run, I called it a night and headed off to bed.

Overall, it was productive, although light, weekend.  I completed another story arc with Erdrique and am steadily moving him forward with his first epic reincarnation.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting in the Underdark!!

Questing Over the Previous Week, Quest Runs February 15th to February 18th

Well, I think the theme for me during the last two months of 2015 and first two month of 2016 is to just fall behind :(.  I’m just over a week behind in my blog publishing so it is time to start getting back to being productive!!  Speaking to that end, I wanted to review what I did last week over the Valentine holiday.  On Monday, February 16th I kicked off the day by taking Cantlin (Level 13 Sorcerer) and Stoorage (Level 14 Fighter) for some dual boxing fun out into Sorrowdusk Isle.  While venturing the wilds of the tropical island, Cantlin picked up another 70 slayers.  Cantlin now needs less than 250 more slayers to max the area out.  He also picked up all of his rare encounters when I finally stumbled upon on Thanolin who was my last rare for him.  Stoorage I brought along but he already had the Sorrowdusk Isle area maxed out.  During the afternoon, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 26 Rogue/Legendary Dreadnaught) and took him into Kobold Island: Short Cuts on level 25.  Unfortunately, I only picked up 475 crystals out of the required 500 crystals so I failed during that run.  Later on Monday night, I logged on with Tuhnn (Level 16 Bladeforged) and I took him out into the Ruins of Gianthold.  While out there, Tuhnn picked up another 59 slayers in the Stormfist Camp which pushed over the 50 slayer mark for that camp.  He also was credited with finding Hobgoblin Lair’s entrance and the gnoll’s breadth bridge.  I then took Tuhnn into A Cabal for One on elite.  As Tuhnn made his way through the hobgoblin ranks, he obtained Hobgoblin Exterminator I in his monster manual for just over 300 experience.  He also encountered a few champions that dropped him 11 mysterious remnants and he finished the quest and also took down Olos Nobrac.  I then took Tuhnn out to Korthos Island to do a quick simple favor run, Storehouse Secret since he is an iconic character and skipped all of those quests.  After I completed Storehouse Secret, I then headed to House Cannith to do another challenge, this time the Extraplanar Palace: Labor Shortage.  I didn’t have any issues at all and completed the objectives collecting 100 crystals and for defeating Auraxylion.  At the end of the challenge, I picked up 156 Arcanaloth Scrolls and a monster manual deed for Yuguloth, Yuguloth Hunter, which netted my over 2,00 experience.  I called it a night after that.

To start my questing activities on Tuesday, I took Larrs (Level 21 Bard/Fatesinger) out into the King’s Forest for some morning slayer action.  While hunting in the beautiful forest, Larrs racked up another 34 slayers.  In so doing, he killed off two dire bears, hit the 50 slayer mark, found the 10th message from Elminster, and defeated the drow hunters.  In the afternoon, I brought on Hamllin (Level 17 Fighter).  I then took him into the Extraplanar Palace: Labor Stortage and I ran into some unfortunate problems.  For some reason, I had a number of the kobolds decided they wanted to take a swim in the lava portion of the floor design and after I little while they died off one by one :(.  I only had one kobold left by the time the quest was over and then he got stuck on the pathing when I had 92 crystals collected, so needless to say I failed that run.  Later that night, I logged on with Rimuldar (Level 23 Wizard/Draconic Incarnation) and I took him into Sschindylryn and I made my way to the quest The House of Death Undone.  On my way to quest, Rimuldar picked up 13 slayers and took out the mindflayer, Enrhiikuz.  While in the quest, Rimuldar was able to the complete the optional objectives for killing 12, 24, and 36 drow zombies, destroying all of the cauldrons (slave quarters and priestess room), and for defeating Silan Szind.  It wasn’t a bad run at all!!  I then called it a night.

Wednesday started out by doing some more dual boxing, this time with Containment (Level 7 Cleric) and Cannock (Level 8 Druid).  I took them out to Tangleroot Gorge for the morning slayer run.  They both picked up 56 slayers and while hunting Cannock picked up the Wolf Exterminator II monster manual deed which awarded him nearly 1,700 experience.  In the afternoon, I logged on with Erdrique and I took him back into Kobold Island: Short Cuts, but just like before I failed again.  I just ran out of time extracting those crystals.  After that run, I took Erdrique out into the Sands of Meenctharun.  While doing some hunting in the desert, Erdrique picked up another 63 gnolls and 87 scorrow slayers.  He also was awarded Scorrow Exterminator IV in the monster manual and picked up nearly 9,500 experience from that reward.  He also came across Volrune the Curate, Mendexethazz, and Den Mother Feena.  He still needs two more rare encounters to have those complete.  After that run through the desert I called it a night to spend the rest of the evening with my beautiful wife 🙂 for date night.

I logged on with Charlock (Level 16 Fighter) and Stoorage (Level 14 Fighter) and had another dual boxing session in which I took them into the Red Fens for the morning slayer run on Thursday.  While moving through the marshes and swamps of the Red Fens, I collected another 95 slayers for both of them.  This actually pushed Stoorage past the 400 slayer mark.  I also killed Gorger and Nab Ren.  I didn’t get on during the afternoon but later that night I dual boxed again, this time with Containment and Cannock.  I was scheduled to play Containment and he still needed to run The Captives and the Sharn Syndicate quests.  So I took them out into the Cerulean Hills and made my way to The Captives.  While taking down the Grul Tribe orcs, Containment and Cannock defeated captains Griznuk and Maknuls. I also defeated a wolf champion that dropped 64 mysterious remnants for Containment and only 15 mysterious remnants for Cannock.  However, in one of the chests Cannock looted a +2 Dwarven Axe of Feeding that also did pure good damage, a nice low level twink weapon.  After I took them both through the Captives, I then headed to Marketplace and started the Sharn Syndicate series by running through Stand Your Ground.  While in the quest, as I was playing Containment with Cannock piking around, I wasn’t paying attention to Rance’s health and I actually lost him during the battle.  I did pick up some more mysterious remnants from another champion though (16 for Containment and 11 for Cannock).  After that I took them both into the quest Dirty Laundry.  As I completed the quest, I also completed the optional of opening doors with the secret levers.  I then moved onto the Stormreaver Fresco where I completed the optional objectives of not opening the safety deposit boxes and not killing the guards.  That was the last quest I ran for the night.

Overall, the week was quite a mixture of various quest turns.  I had some epic runs as well as some low level runs.  The slayer runs were also quite variable and I even had a decent mixture of dual box and regular quest runs.  It was a fun week indeed.  I hope everybody else had a great week too.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Mixing it Up, Quest Runs January 11th to January 14th

This particular week, I had a nice array of quest runs logged.  I ran characters through quests ranging from low level explorer zones to some epic quests and challenges.  I started out the week on Monday morning by taking Containment (Level 7 Cleric) and Cannock (Level 8 Druid) into Tangleroot Gorge for some slayers.  Later that afternoon, I continued with some slayers by taking Hamllin (Level 17 Fighter) back into the Sands of Menechtarun so that he could continue to work on his undead slayers.  After working my way around the domain of King Raiyum I logged out until later that night.  That night I was scheduled to play Stoorage (Level 14 Fighter) so I also decided to dual box with Tuhnn (Level 15 Bladeforged) as well.  I did this because they both needed to complete Delera’s Tomb.  Blackvale also happened to be logged on and offered to help me.  I also playing during our regular, weekly digital pen and paper session, so it was pretty busy night.  With Blackvale’s help, I was able to take Stoorage and Tuhnn through The Mystery of Delera’s Tomb, The Missing Party, Free Delera, Return to Delera’s Tomb, and The Thrall of the Necromancer.  Even being well over level for the quest, Tuhnn still wound up getting enough experience to level up to 16 (which I still need to do).  After those runs, I called it a night, as we had also finished up our pen and paper session as well.

Tuesday, I took Charlock (Level 15 Fighter) out into the Red Fens to continue his slayers out there.  I didn’t get a chance to log in during the afternoon but that night I logged on with Wapoyei (Level 24 Cleric/Divine Crusader) and I took him into the epic slayer area, Sschindylryn.  I then made my way through the Drow City of Portals to the quest House of Broken Chains and completed it on epic hard.  It turned out not be be as difficulty as I thought it was going to be.  However, it did take a good amount of time and by the time I finished it I had to call it a night.

On Wednesday, I started out the day by dual boxing once again, this time with Lorrikk (Level 13 Monk) and Stoorage.  I took them out into Sorrowdusk Isle to continue with Lorrikk slayers out there.  In the afternoon, I brought Hamllin back on and took him back out into desert for more undead slayers.  That closed out my Wednesday questing.

To close out the week on Thursday, I had another dual boxing session with Crawlller (Level 7 Ranger) and Cannock.  I took them out into Three Barrel Cove to focus primarily on Crawlller’s slayers.  In the afternoon, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 25 Rogue/Primal Avatar) and I took him through two iterations of the Extraplanar Palace: Buying Time as he continued to collected some Cannith Challenge Crafting ingredients.  Later that night, I logged on with Berann (Level 9 Barbarian) and Containment.  I took them both into the quest Proof is in the Poison and knocked it out on elite for both of them.  However, that was the only run I was to complete that night.

So, my questing over the week covered quite a variety of levels and quests.  Not a bad a week at all, although I did miss some questing opportunities.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!
