Hitting Up Some Quests, January 29 to February 4

Well, this past week was much more productive than the week prior.  I didn’t get a chance to kick off the week until Monday.  I started Monday afternoon by taking Breyy (Level 7 Artificer) out into wilds of Korthos Island.  He collected 93 more slayers while out there.  After I ran Breyy, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 10 Bard) and Sttollen (Level 11 Rogue) and ran the quest The Graverobber.  While running The Graverobber on elite, Erdrique picked up 28 mysterious remnants while Sttollen picked up 76.  The run went fairly smoothly.  Monday night, I took Burlland (Level 15 Purple Dragon Knight) out into Korthos Island and collected 415 slayers, defeated Vekz Spluhr and Ciccic twice, hit the 400 and  750 slayer award mark, collected all rare encounters, and picked up the monster manual deed for human exterminator for 330 experience.  After he finished the Korthos Island slayer area, I took Burlland out into the Cerulean Hills.  Burlland collected the 10, 25, 50, 100, and 200 slayer marks.  He also located all of the explorers and took out Thaalan, Ebony, Lotigath, Kargoth, and Twinfang.  Burlland also collected two monster manual deeds one exterminator deed for orcs (gained 1,100 experience) and another one for fiendish lion (2,200 experience).  I did this while also playing during our weekly digital table top game.

I started out on Tuesday by logging in with Erdrique and Sttollen and taking them into the Searing Heights for my slayer run.  They took out Itharn Ushu, Shute Ruggzen, Giallo, and Ghamzee and collected another 194 slayers.  After that run, I logged on with Hamllin (Level 20 Fighter) and attempted to do Demon Assault on elite once again.  I haven’t had much luck on this lately and this go around wasn’t any different.  I had some buggy AI issues with my hirelings and went down in a flame of glory :).  I did collect a monster manual deed for dretch hunter though.  That was the last run I was able to try on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, I took Kolll (Level 22 Ranger/Shiradi Champion) into the King’s Forest where he collected 38 slayers, defeated at least five dire bears, and picked up two commendations for the villagers of Eveningstar by completing the random encounter for The Antidote which all finished all of his random encounters for the Villagers of Eveningstar.  Shortly after than run, I logged on with Erdrique and Sttollen and I took them through The Missing Party quest in the Delera’s chain.  I completed the optional objectives for slaying all of the Omaren guardians.  I called it a night after that run to spend date night with my beautiful wife :).

I didn’t get a chance to run a slayer run or a mid-day run on Thursday but I did long on Thursday night with Breyy.  I took back into Korthos and completed the quests Stopping the Sahaugin, Necromancer’s Doom, and Sacrifices.  As I made my way from quest to quest I picked up 39 more slayers in Korthos Island.  For Sacrifices, I completed the optional objective to free all of the slaves, slaying Drenyl Fallow, and defeating the arcane skeleton.

I didn’t log on Friday night, as I fell asleep and before new it it was 2:30 am, lol.  But I did get on Saturday night.  I logged on with Erdrique and Sttollen once again and this time I got up with Wasabisan and we headed off into The Pit on elite.  We had an interesting time in there but we wound up completing it with just a little bit of an issue in the electricity room.  We completed the optional objectives for slaying Chieftain Ryssyssal, slaying High Priest Shylssass, slaying the Avatar of Juiblex, and destroying some eggs.  Erdrique picked up a monster manual deed for troglodyte exterminator II (netting him 1,380 experience) and he also picked up a total of 27 mysterious remnants.  Sttollen, looted a Docent of Acid and a Muck’s Doom (which I passed on to Wasabisan).

So overall, not a bad week.  Not as full as my  typical set of week’s but I still had a nice variety of runs.  I hope everybody else had a nice set of runs as well.  Thanks for reading and happy hunting!!

A Weekend of Undead, July 31st to August 2nd

A glance back at the questing over the weekend showed a number of quests involving the undead.  However, the questing didn’t start out that way.  On Friday morning, for my usual slayer run, I took Cannock (Level 7 Druid) out into the Cerulean Hills to take on some orcs, wolves, and rats.  I had some fun out there experimenting with Call Lightning, Splinterbolt, and Produce Flame.  Cannock is going to focus more on spell casting as opposed to Erdrique’s druid life which was more melee centric.  I didn’t get on for an afternoon run but I did get on Friday night.  I logged on with Erdrique and took him through a quick run into the Red Fens.  However last weekend, Hellbanisher, Khamels, and Erdrique (Level 15 Rogue) had flagged for The Cursed Crypt which was the first quest we decided to take on.  I was quite impressed with our movement through the quest.  The Cursed Crypt can definitely be frustrating because it is a time quest and it can take a lot of time to track down the key to allow you to progress further in the quest.  To make things worse, if you can more than a certain number of Silver Flame members then the quest fail.  These things can make the Cursed Crypt Challenging.  I began to wonder about our ability to succeed in doing this especially when we took out a Silver Flame member while looking for the key.  But I didn’t really need to worry.  We found the key with only one silver flame member lost.  After we opened up access to the higher levels of the crypt, we still had well more than 30 minutes to get everything done.  We did run into some deaths and problems during the last fight with Maldetto and his silver flame followers as we tried to the Silver Flame around.  Eventually we gave up on that and took them out accept for one and then defeated Maldetto.  It was a pretty smooth run overall.

After the Cursed Crypt, we headed out to take on the quest From Beyond the Grave.  I wanted to go ahead and complete this quest because it takes at least one person to watch the gate while another person lights the funeral pyres.  Having the three of us, I figured it would be a good time to knock this level 11 quest out on elite.  After than run, Hellbanisher called it a night.  Erdrique and Khamels were then joined up with Mooned and we headed off to the quest Made to Order.  We moved through Made to Order with little difficulty.  After we finished up that run, we then headed off to another level 11 quest, The Enemy Within.  I always find The Enemy Within to be challenging and it is quite interesting to take on a cold based mind flayer at the end of the quest.  Once we finished The Enemy Within, we decided to call it a night.

Saturday wasn’t as active as Friday.  I decided to start things out with Erdrique and took him out into the Red Fens to continue to burn off a slayer potion.  After I made a circuit through the Red Fens, I then decided to work on some Cannith Challenges to gather ingredients for upgrading my Spare Hand and Ring of the Stalker.  I decided to run Dr. Rushmore’s Mansion: Picture Portals which I had no issues with completing.  After that run, I took Erdrique out into the quest Framework and completed decimating the minotaur tribe at the Matador Village.  I then took Erdrique back into Dr. Rushmore’s Mansion: PIcture Portals for a second run through, where it was first time I took out all of the named bosses of Dr. Rushmore’s pary.  I then headed out to the Sands of Menechtarun and completed The Chamber of Kourush on elite.  I called it a night after that.

Sunday was the least active of the days over the weekend but perhaps the hardest for me.  I took Cantlin (Level 12 Sorcerer) through The Pit on elite.  I had a few problems in there, especially in the lightning trap room, but I did knock it out :)!!  Upon its completion I still gained well over 23,000 experience.

 photo Cantlin exploring the Pit_zpsa0d93ufa.jpg

The weekend was definitely filled with the killing of the undead, especially with the quests in the Necropolis, House Jorasco, and the Desert.  However, I also had some fun with constructs, duergar, minotaurs, and illusionary enemies.  I hope next week and next weekend will be just as fun.  I hope everybody else had a fun time as well.  Thanks for reading and happy hunting!!

Looking Back at My Quest Filled Week, Quest Runs June 8th to June 11th

Well to start off the week, I actually did some adventuring in Neverwinter Nights II OC during this past Monday morning because the DDO game servers were offline for maintenance.  So that morning I took Ragnar and his band further into the city of Neverwinter and into the Moonstone Mask to find out more about the whereabouts of a crime lord.  Later that afternoon, after I got back home and DDO was back online, I took Erdrique (Level 10 Rogue) through the quest Dead Predators.  Later that night, I logged on with Kolll (Level 22 Ranger/Shiradi Champion) and took him into the The Prisoner and The Jungle of Khyber on epic hard.

On Tuesday, I started my questing by taking Kanndar (Level 12 Paladin) into Sorrowdusk Isle.  He is slowly collecting his slayers that area but he is getting there.  That afternoon, I continued with my slayer runs by taking Hamllin (Level 16 Fighter) into the Red Fens where he continues to make his way through his slayers.  However, the more fun experience came that night when I logged back on with Kanndar and took him into The Pit.  I took Kanndar through the Pit on elite an enjoyed making my way through the complicated sewer system of House D.

I started off Wednesday by taking Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) into the slayer zone he is currently working through, the pirate infested area of Three Barrel Cove.  Later that afternoon, I took Erdrique into the quest Graverobber.  Although Erdrique was level 10 at the time, he still had a number of level 7 quests to knock out that included the Graverobber.  He still has to complete the Sentinel Series, Gwylan’s Stand, Taming the Flames, and Tear of Dhakaan as well.  I’m hoping to knock those out this weekend, and of course I’m expecting to hit level 11 too :).  In either case, after the Graverobber I called it a day as far as questing is concerned because I spent that night hanging out with my wife for our weekly date night.

To wrap up the week, I took Cantlin (Level 12 Sorcerer) out into Sorrowdusk Isle.  I had some fun times burning up some ogres, trolls, and scorpions.  Later that afternoon, I took Hamllin back into the Red Fens and then later that night I took Hamllin into the Cannith Challenges to collect the rest of the Challenge ingredients for Erdrique.  So I ran through Dr. Rushmore’s Mansion: Picture Portals a few times and I was able to get enough jeweled goblets for Erdrique to upgrade his Challenge gear.  I then took Hamllin back into the Red Fens.

Overall it was nice set of runs.  I really enjoyed making my way through Epic VON II and III with Kolll and knocking out those quests with Erdrique.  I was also happy to get what I needed from the Cannith Challenges for Erdrique.  Nice week indeed!!  Hoping this weekend is just as good.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Productive Questing Over the Holiday Weekend, Quest Runs May 22nd to May 24th

It was a strong and productive set of quest runs over this latest holiday weekend.  The weekend runs kicked off early Friday morning when I took my druid Cannock (Level 7) out into the wilds of Korthos Island.  This was a nice little mindless slayer run prior to my meeting at work.  After work, I brought on Erdrique (Level 10 Rogue) and took him into the Searing Heights and into the quest Ruined Halls.  I’m still working on completing those level 6 quests.  After I completed Ruined Halls, I took a second to log on with Hamllin (Level 16 Fighter).  Since I didn’t get a chance to run him on Thursday because I had to stay late at work, I took the time to maneuver him through a circuit of the Red Fens.  Later that night, I logged back on Erdrique and hit up a number of quests after I added pure good to his acid quarterstaff in the Cannith Crafting hall.  First off, I ventured back into the Searing Heights and then I made my way out to Sorrowdusk Isle.  While out there I completed the Grey Moon’s Den Story Arc completing the Iron Mines: Freeing Achka, the Iron Mines: Justice for Grust, The Grey Moon’s Den: The Trollish Scouge, and The Grey Moon’s Den: Extermination.  Now Erdrique is flagged to start on the Cult of the Six Story Arc.  After those runs, I decided to collect some more challenge ingredients and completed a few runs of The Lava Caves: Colossal Crystal.  After that I logged out for the night.

I was active once again with Erdrique on Saturday.  I took him back out into Searing Heights and wound up completing that wilderness zone before I logged out for the night.  I then headed off and ran Devil’s Assault on normal and then ran off into the challenge Lava Caves: Colossal Crystal.  Once I finished that run, I obtained the necessary jaded scorpions for my next upgrades.  I then headed off to Redwillow’s Ruins where I picked up a number of monster manual awards which gave me a nice amount of additional experience.  Once I completed Redwillow’s Ruins, I headed off to the next challenge, Extraplanar Palace: Dragon’s Hoard and started to work on gathering the enchanted armor fragments that I will need for my next set of upgrades.  I then called it a night.

To close out the weekend, I logged Erdrique back on and joined up with Hellbanisher where we entered and took on the dangers of The Pit.  We made it through on the quest quite efficiently and that netted both of us well over 30 k experience.  Nice indeed!!

So, as usual, it was another weekend dominated with runs with Erdrique.  I hope to continue on with my challenge questing because I would really like to have the necessary ingredients I need to upgrade my Ring of the Stalker and Spare Hand when I hit level 11.  We’ll see how that turns out.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy questing!!

Two Days of Questing over the Weekend, December 26th to 28th

This past weekend was a very strong weekend of questing for me, at least in terms of knocking out high experience awarding quests.  I was traveling during Friday, December 26th from North Carolina to Florida and didn’t get any play time :(.  So my questing activities didn’t start until Saturday.

I devoted the entire weekend to questing with Erdrique (Level 12 Monk) to take advantage of the 10% experience bonus and the additional 10% experience VIP bonus.  To start out the questing I took Erdrique out into Sorrowdusk Isle and completed the rest of the slayers and rares out in that zone.  After I completed that zone, I then moved off to finish up the Ruins of Threnal.  I then took on and completed the quests of the Abandoned Excavation (The Missing Expedition, Entering the Gate Chamber, The Gate Chamber) and then I completed the Threnal Arena and the Giant Caves (The Giants Lieutenants, The Giants’ Lair, The Giants’ Supplies).  After completing all of Threnal I then moved off and head on to The Pit.  However, before I did that I leveled up from 11 to 12.  I then blasted through Pit and still earned well over 36,000 experience for the run :).  Once I completed the Pit, I then headed off to the Tomb of the Shadow Guard and completed it on elite.  After the run through the Tomb of the Shadow Guard, I called it a night.

On Sunday, I continued through the Shadow Tomb series of quests.  Before I did that however, I went to the Cannith Crafting Hall and decided to create some ghost touch of pure good handwraps because I was having a number of annoying issues in the Tomb of the Shadow Guard from incorporeality misses.  After I created the new handwraps, I head pack out to the Necropolis and hit up the Tomb of the Shadow King and Tomb of the Shadow Knight.  Once I completed these two quests, I was then able to gain access to The Shadow Crypt and I worked my way through that shifting maze to gain gears to finally take on Nerezza.  The Shadow Crypt netted me over 50,000 experience :).

At that point, I called it a night.  So even though I missed a day of questing because of traveling issues, I still wracked up quite a bit of experience over the weekend.  I still plan on focusing on Erdrique during the week as well to continue to take advantage of the experience bonus that is currently active and to take advantage of my time off of work before things head back to normal.  Thank you for reading and happy hunting!!

It was a Saga Filled Weekend, September 5th to 7th

My questing runs over this past weekend was dominated by Erdrique (Level 17 Druid) who I took through primarily the quests in Gianthold.  However, prior to that I was scheduled to take Erdrique into the Sands of Menechtarun (aka, the Desert) for my Friday morning slayer runs prior to heading to the office.  My afternoon run, prior to dinner, was also with Erdrique, who I took through the Maze of Madness.  Later that night, I took Erdrique back out in the Desert to collect some more slayers and to find my last rare encounter and then I headed back to Gianthold to take on the quest A Cabal for One.  After collecting some more slayers in the Desert and in the Gianthold I then logged out for the night.

On Saturday, I logged back on with Erdrique and headed back into the Desert as I was still hunting down my last rare encounter (Thumok the Mad).  I then headed back out into the Gianthold and completed Madstone Crater, Prison of the Planes, and the Gianthold Tor all on elite.  I didn’t really run into any snags at all with any of the quests.  Although I did lose my cleric hireling a few times in the Tor as she seemed to gain a large amount of aggro for whatever reason.  However, the real highlight of these runs was that I completed the Wastes of Gianthold (Heroic) Saga and that was my first saga completion !! :).  After that, I logged out for the night.

I didn’t log in on Sunday until relatively late.  I was scheduled to play with Lorrikk (Level 11 Montk) and I took him out into the Pit.   This was the first time I took Lorrikk into the Pit and I had a fun time in there with him.  His evasion helped him immensely in the quest, especially in the lightning room where you need to throw the levers to power up the back up generator or whatever is.  On elite, the quest was level 9, but even with that I still wound up getting well over 20,000 experience for Lorrikk, however it did take me over an hour to complete.  I did run into some issues while running the Pit, but these issues were centered around latency and lag issues, and now quest issues.  Overall, it was a nice run :).

 photo LorrikkdealingwiththetrogsinthePit_zpsd5e2479e.jpg

So the highlight of this past weekend really was my completion of my first saga.  I had a fun time knocking those quests out and I look forward to completing more of them!!  Thanks for reading everybody and I hope everybody else had a fun weekend :).  Now its time to get into DDO and to go hunting!!

Questing Over the Week July 28th to July 31st

The week’s questing began with Lorrikk (Level 11 Monk) who ran around the Searing Heights to gather up some slayers as I settled back into a routine.  After I ran around the explorer zone I logged out to head to work but later that night I logged on with Kolll (Level 21 Ranger/Shiradi Champion) who ventured into the quest Into the Deep.  The last time I tried Into the Deep I had tried it on epic hard and got overwhelmed.  This time I entered on epic normal because it was a Monday night and I was also multitasking playing with my digital PNP group as well.  Running the quest on epic normal was significantly easier and I was able to complete it with little difficulty, even with my attention diverted.  After that run, it was time to call it a night.

On Tuesday, my questing started with Crawlller (Level 5 Ranger) who entered Tangleroot Gorge to gather some slayers and explorer points.  After toying around with some hobgoblins, I logged out and headed off to work.  I logged on Tuesday afternoon with Hamllin (Level 10 Fighter) and decided to head into the quest, Taming the Flames.  I was expecting on having some difficulty on Taming the Flames on elite, especially with a hireling, but surprisingly I had completed it without any deaths for either myself or for my hireling cleric.  After that run, I logged out for dinner.  Later that night, I logged back into the game with Kanndar (Level 11 Paladin) and finally took him through the Bloody Crypt on elite.  I didn’t really experience any issues at all but the quest is long and after its completion I had to call it a night.

Wednesday, I logged on Berann (Level 7 Barbarian) and took him into the Cerulean Hills for the first time and had plowing through the bugbears and orcs.  That was my only run on Wednesday night as the rest of the day I spent hanging out with my wife :).

Thursday, the day started out with slayer run through the Vale of Twilight with Rimuldar (Level 22 Wizard/Magister) and he nearly has his 1,500 slayers in Lamannians.  Later that afternoon I logged back on with Hamllin and decided to start the Vault of Night Series with him and took him through the Tharashk Arena on elite.  The quest went well and I was pleasantly surprised to realize that I was scheduled to play Hamllin later that night.  With that said, I decided to hit up the last level seven quest on his list, The Pit.  I only had one challenging issue, the major electricity room where I got cooked and died about 3 or 4 times.  However, I eventually prevailed and was able to complete the quest, although I did stay up way to late.  However, getting nearly 30,000 experience from a level nine quest (completed on elite) partially made up for that.
