Questing Over the Previous Week, Quest Runs February 15th to February 18th

Well, I think the theme for me during the last two months of 2015 and first two month of 2016 is to just fall behind :(.  I’m just over a week behind in my blog publishing so it is time to start getting back to being productive!!  Speaking to that end, I wanted to review what I did last week over the Valentine holiday.  On Monday, February 16th I kicked off the day by taking Cantlin (Level 13 Sorcerer) and Stoorage (Level 14 Fighter) for some dual boxing fun out into Sorrowdusk Isle.  While venturing the wilds of the tropical island, Cantlin picked up another 70 slayers.  Cantlin now needs less than 250 more slayers to max the area out.  He also picked up all of his rare encounters when I finally stumbled upon on Thanolin who was my last rare for him.  Stoorage I brought along but he already had the Sorrowdusk Isle area maxed out.  During the afternoon, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 26 Rogue/Legendary Dreadnaught) and took him into Kobold Island: Short Cuts on level 25.  Unfortunately, I only picked up 475 crystals out of the required 500 crystals so I failed during that run.  Later on Monday night, I logged on with Tuhnn (Level 16 Bladeforged) and I took him out into the Ruins of Gianthold.  While out there, Tuhnn picked up another 59 slayers in the Stormfist Camp which pushed over the 50 slayer mark for that camp.  He also was credited with finding Hobgoblin Lair’s entrance and the gnoll’s breadth bridge.  I then took Tuhnn into A Cabal for One on elite.  As Tuhnn made his way through the hobgoblin ranks, he obtained Hobgoblin Exterminator I in his monster manual for just over 300 experience.  He also encountered a few champions that dropped him 11 mysterious remnants and he finished the quest and also took down Olos Nobrac.  I then took Tuhnn out to Korthos Island to do a quick simple favor run, Storehouse Secret since he is an iconic character and skipped all of those quests.  After I completed Storehouse Secret, I then headed to House Cannith to do another challenge, this time the Extraplanar Palace: Labor Shortage.  I didn’t have any issues at all and completed the objectives collecting 100 crystals and for defeating Auraxylion.  At the end of the challenge, I picked up 156 Arcanaloth Scrolls and a monster manual deed for Yuguloth, Yuguloth Hunter, which netted my over 2,00 experience.  I called it a night after that.

To start my questing activities on Tuesday, I took Larrs (Level 21 Bard/Fatesinger) out into the King’s Forest for some morning slayer action.  While hunting in the beautiful forest, Larrs racked up another 34 slayers.  In so doing, he killed off two dire bears, hit the 50 slayer mark, found the 10th message from Elminster, and defeated the drow hunters.  In the afternoon, I brought on Hamllin (Level 17 Fighter).  I then took him into the Extraplanar Palace: Labor Stortage and I ran into some unfortunate problems.  For some reason, I had a number of the kobolds decided they wanted to take a swim in the lava portion of the floor design and after I little while they died off one by one :(.  I only had one kobold left by the time the quest was over and then he got stuck on the pathing when I had 92 crystals collected, so needless to say I failed that run.  Later that night, I logged on with Rimuldar (Level 23 Wizard/Draconic Incarnation) and I took him into Sschindylryn and I made my way to the quest The House of Death Undone.  On my way to quest, Rimuldar picked up 13 slayers and took out the mindflayer, Enrhiikuz.  While in the quest, Rimuldar was able to the complete the optional objectives for killing 12, 24, and 36 drow zombies, destroying all of the cauldrons (slave quarters and priestess room), and for defeating Silan Szind.  It wasn’t a bad run at all!!  I then called it a night.

Wednesday started out by doing some more dual boxing, this time with Containment (Level 7 Cleric) and Cannock (Level 8 Druid).  I took them out to Tangleroot Gorge for the morning slayer run.  They both picked up 56 slayers and while hunting Cannock picked up the Wolf Exterminator II monster manual deed which awarded him nearly 1,700 experience.  In the afternoon, I logged on with Erdrique and I took him back into Kobold Island: Short Cuts, but just like before I failed again.  I just ran out of time extracting those crystals.  After that run, I took Erdrique out into the Sands of Meenctharun.  While doing some hunting in the desert, Erdrique picked up another 63 gnolls and 87 scorrow slayers.  He also was awarded Scorrow Exterminator IV in the monster manual and picked up nearly 9,500 experience from that reward.  He also came across Volrune the Curate, Mendexethazz, and Den Mother Feena.  He still needs two more rare encounters to have those complete.  After that run through the desert I called it a night to spend the rest of the evening with my beautiful wife 🙂 for date night.

I logged on with Charlock (Level 16 Fighter) and Stoorage (Level 14 Fighter) and had another dual boxing session in which I took them into the Red Fens for the morning slayer run on Thursday.  While moving through the marshes and swamps of the Red Fens, I collected another 95 slayers for both of them.  This actually pushed Stoorage past the 400 slayer mark.  I also killed Gorger and Nab Ren.  I didn’t get on during the afternoon but later that night I dual boxed again, this time with Containment and Cannock.  I was scheduled to play Containment and he still needed to run The Captives and the Sharn Syndicate quests.  So I took them out into the Cerulean Hills and made my way to The Captives.  While taking down the Grul Tribe orcs, Containment and Cannock defeated captains Griznuk and Maknuls. I also defeated a wolf champion that dropped 64 mysterious remnants for Containment and only 15 mysterious remnants for Cannock.  However, in one of the chests Cannock looted a +2 Dwarven Axe of Feeding that also did pure good damage, a nice low level twink weapon.  After I took them both through the Captives, I then headed to Marketplace and started the Sharn Syndicate series by running through Stand Your Ground.  While in the quest, as I was playing Containment with Cannock piking around, I wasn’t paying attention to Rance’s health and I actually lost him during the battle.  I did pick up some more mysterious remnants from another champion though (16 for Containment and 11 for Cannock).  After that I took them both into the quest Dirty Laundry.  As I completed the quest, I also completed the optional of opening doors with the secret levers.  I then moved onto the Stormreaver Fresco where I completed the optional objectives of not opening the safety deposit boxes and not killing the guards.  That was the last quest I ran for the night.

Overall, the week was quite a mixture of various quest turns.  I had some epic runs as well as some low level runs.  The slayer runs were also quite variable and I even had a decent mixture of dual box and regular quest runs.  It was a fun week indeed.  I hope everybody else had a great week too.  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!

Primarily Low Level Questing With One Epic Run, Questing Over October 13th to October 16th

The questing for me this week was dominated with runs with my new druid, Cannock (Level 7), some more runs with Erdrique (Level 4 Monk) and Hamllin (Level 12 Fighter).  I did get one epic level quest run with Rimuldar (Level 23 Wizard/Magister) as well.

The week started with a Monday morning slayer run with Containment (Level 5) who finished up his Waterworks Slayers and then moved onto to start his domination of Tangleroot Gorge.  Later that afternoon, I logged on with Hamllin and took him back out into Sorrowdusk Isle and completed the quest The Sanctum: The Church and the Fury which was the last quest in the Cult of Six story arc.  For Monday night, I logged on with my newest character, Cannock, and took him through “The Voyage” and raised him up to level 7.  I then took him out into Korthos and completed the quests Heyton’s Rest, The Storehouse Secret, The Cannith Crystal, The Collaborator, Redemption, and some Korthos Island Slayers.  Even though I was over level, I also go back and run theses quest for the favor.  After hitting those up, I called it a night.

I was scheduled to play Charlock (Level 13 Fighter) on Tuesday morning for my slayer run so I brought him and out into Sorrowdusk Isle and finished that explorer zone.  Charlock is now ready to head out into the Red Fens.  My afternoon run was with Erdrique who I took into the Depths of Darkness.  Unfortunately I was running behind and that was the only quest I get in for my mid-day afternoon run.  Tuesday night, I logged on with Rimuldar.  Rimuldar was working on finishing up the Sands of Menechtarun quests on epic normal.  He only needed the quest, Against the Demon Queen, to finish all of the quests on epic normal before he moves onto the next set of quests.  The quest run went very well and I wrote about it here.  It was one of my more enjoyable runs in the epic setting so far.  After I took Rimudlar through the Court of Lailat, I then headed off to House Cannith and ran the challenge Buying Time on level 20 for some of the heroic ingredients.   I had no major issues in there, but I did actually get killed but I was still able to complete the quest.  After the run through Buying Time, I headed off to bed.

Wednesday morning I was scheduled to start the day with Lorrikk (Level 11 Monk) and I took him out into the Searing Heights.  Lorrikk is nearly done with the Searing Heights, he only needs one last rare encounter (Guck) and he will be finished with the area and will be moving to Sorrowdusk Isle.  When I got home from work, I logged on with Hamllin and took him into the last parts of the Ruins of Threnal: Entering the Gate Chamber and The Gate Chamber.  While running through Entering the Gate Chamber, I just realized even more how much slimes and rust monsters annoy me…  I didn’t run anything Wednesday night because it was date night with the misses :).

For Thursday, the day started out with me logging in with Crawlller (Level 5 Ranger) and I took him out into Tangleroot Gorge.  I was lucky enough to have another player join my party post in the LFM panel during my run through of explorer area which allowed us to power through the explorer area twice before I needed to head to work.  I didn’t log into the game for a mid-day run, as I took my wife out for a little celebration (she was accepted into a new college) but I did log in Thursday night with Erdrique and I took him through the last two quests in the Catacombs: Endgame: Marguerite and Endgame: Archbishop’s Fate.  After that,  I logged on with Containment and took him through Home Sweet Sewer, Kobold Assault (normal and hard), and into the Cannith Challenge Behind the Door.  For the challenge, I didn’t quite complete the quest as I ran out of time before I got to one of the boss monsters, however I did kill the Mother of the Nest and earned a supply chest.  After those runs, I called it a night.

To sum up the questing for the week, it was centered around low level and mid level runs with a very fun epic run on Tuesday night.  It was a good of questing!!  I hope you all had a strong week as well :).  Thanks for reading and happy hunting everybody!!

The Questing Resumes, Quest Runs over the Weekend July 25 to 27

Well, it had been awhile since I was able to run some quests in DDO but things were back in full swing this past weekend.  My questing adventures restarted on Friday night with a run through Made to Order with Erdrique (Level 14 Druid).  I received help from Sornea and we had a fun time blasting through the duergar and Haywire’s constructs.  However, that was the only quest I was able to run as I spent a good amount of time working on character maintenance after that particular run.

On Saturday night, I started my questing with Erdrique and took him into the Red Fens to work on some slayers where I got some help from Khamel.  However, I later switched to Containment (Level 4 Cleric) and Khamel likewise also brought in a level four character and we helped my daughter work with her first character through the Korthos Village and Island quests including: The Storehouse Secret, The Cannith Crystal, The Collaborator, Stopping the Sahuagin, and Redemption.  We also try to work on my daughter’s settings, primarily her voice chat settings as she wasn’t able to use her microphone for some reason.  After those runs, we decided to call it a night.

On Sunday, I logged on with Suppply (Level 8 Paladin) and with help from Khamelblade, I was finally able to complete all of Assault of Splinterkull on elite.  This included all of the quests except for First Strike: Hobgoblin’s Captives, Yarkuch’s War Plans, Whisperdoom’s Spawn, The Deadly Package: The Stronghold Key, The Deadly Package: The Agent of Darguul, Doom of the Witch-doctor: The Way to Zulkash, Doom of the Witch-doctor: Zulkash, the Herald of Woe, The Last Move: The Way to Yarkuch, and The Last Move: Yarkuch’s Last Stand.  So now Suppply can finally move forward to something other than Tangleroot .  After that set of runs, I logged out for the night.

A Look Back at My Adventures This Past Week March 24 to March 27

This week I had some interesting runs, primarily dominated with my new half-orc barbarian, Berann (Level 7).  On Sunday, I finally found some time to create Berann.  I used my veteran status to start him out at level 7 and took him to Korthos.  On Monday morning, when I typically do my slayer runs, I realized that Berann couldn’t get into the Korthos wilderness zone, so I started off doing the Korthos Village quests. Berann took on Heyton’s Rest, The Storehouse Secret, and The Cannith Crystal before I needed to head off to work.  I didn’t get on Monday afternoon after work but did log back on Monday night while playing my weekly digital D&D PNP game.  On Monday night, I logged on with Wapoyei (Level 22 Cleric/Exalted Angel) and took him into the Tharashk Arena on epic normal.  The run through Tharashk Arena went extremely smoothly, while using my Onyx panther, owl bear, and my shadowdancer hireling, as well as my summons.  Using Symbol of Persuasion I was able to charm some of the more annoying mobs during the arena fights which helped tremendously.

On Tuesday, the Turbine was doing some server maintenance so I loaded up Neverwinter Nights II and brought on my Spirit Shaman, Ragnar, and his party and continued on his quest in the Original Campaign.  My hope is to move Ragnar through the OC and the Mask of the Betrayer Campaign and then use him for some of the other custom mods out there.  We’ll see how that goes.  After the maintenance, I had some problems logging into DDO and was forced to skip my afternoon runs, two days in a row .  However, later that night I rebooted my router/modem and was able to log back in with Berann and to take him through The Collaborater, Korthos Island Wildnerness Zone, Redemption, Stopping the Sahaugin, Necromancer’s Doom, and Sacrifices.  Being level 7, he breezed right through them.  Now he only has Misery’s Peak left to complete on Korthos Island.

Wednesday morning, I logged on with Garrrin (Level 21 Barbarian/Fury of the Wild) I took him into the wilds of Gianthold (Heroic).  I’m bound and determined to max that area out .  We’ll see if I get it done for him.  In either case, I took him around for about 15 to 20 minutes and then logged out to head to work.  This time, I was able to log into DDO after work with Hamllin (Level 7) so I took him into Three Barrel Cove and into the the second quest of the Fire Caves, Brood of Flame.  I blitzed through it and after that run, I logged out for the rest of the day to spend night with my wife .

On Thursday, I continued my Three Barrel Cove theme.  For my morning slayer run, I logged on with Stoorage (Level 9 Fighter) and took him around the ramshackle town and to gather some slayers.  Later than afternoon, I brought Erdrique (Level 8 Druid)on and took him into Three Barrel Cove.  He collected some slayers and some rares, including the scorpion Lacerator (who is usually pretty tough for me to find) and then he headed into the Wheeping Cove to do the quest, The Legend of Two-Toed Tobias.  While running through the quest, I discovered something a little interesting.  I learned that undead, well at least skeletons, can be stunned with the spell Salt Spray.  I had some fun with that little trick .  After I pushed through the Wheeping Cove, I logged for a little.  I logged back on later that night with Sludgge (Level 20 Rogue/Shadowdancer) and took him into A Small Problem on epic normal.  The quest went pretty well but I did struggle near the end and got killed so I will have to go back in there to get my revenge.  After that run, I had to call it a night.

So the runs this week were dominated by Berann, Three Barrel Cove, and few epic runs.  Overall it was a fun set of runs.  Well thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!
