A Little Dual Boxing and a Little Challenging, Quest Runs January 25th to January 28th

My quest runs this week primarily focused on doing some dual boxing (playing two different accounts at the same time with two instances of DDO running), challenge running, and a fun epic run.  I kicked off the week by running a slayer run through the Red Fens.  I took Stoorage (Level 14 Fighter) and Charlock (Level 16 Fighter) out into that enchanted swamp for my first dual boxing session of the week.  The gained another 131 slayers which resulted in Stoorage hitting over 200 slayers and Charlock eclipsing 1,500 slayers.  They also took down Gorger and Kar Xyr.  Later in the afternoon, after getting back home from working and hitting the gym, I took Hamllin (Level 17 Fighter) into the Cannith Challenge Lava Caves: Time is Money.  I’m currently working on collecting challenge ingredients for some equipment for Sludgge (Level 22 Rogue/Shadowdancer).  Hamllin completed the challenge and finished the stars for collecting 100 crystals (mandatory), buying less than 9 minutes of time, and kobold teleporter use.  He received 225 Crystallized Magma Shards.  After a quick run through the Lava Caves, I then took Hamllin out into the Sands of Menechtarun to continue his slayers out there.  While out there Hammy collected four more gnoll slayers and 45 more undead slayers.  I didn’t come across any rare encounters during that quick run :(.  Monday night was another opportunity to do a dual boxing session.  I logged on with Harrgon (Level 11 Favored Soul) and Suppply (Level 10 Paladin).  I was scheduled to play Harrgon that night so I let his quest needs determine what quest to run, which was Devil’s Assault.  I knocked it out on normal.  Harrgon, as a result of the quest, would up hitting the monster manual deeds exterminator I for tieflings (granting him 1,130 experience) and account wide monster manual deed exterminator II for tieflings.  I was also playing during our digital pen and paper session so this was the only quest I was able to complete on Monday night.

On Tuesday, I started out by taking Hamllin out into the Sands of Menechtarun for some slayer runs.  During this morning run, Hammy collected another 30 gnoll slayers and 32 undead slayers.  He also encountered The Thirsty One and Whirling Ozann.  During my afternoon run, I logged on with Erdrique (Level 25 Rogue/Legendary Dreadnaught) and I took him into the Epic Lava Caves: Time is Money.  The stars Erdrique completed during this run was obtaining 100 crystals, keeping all the kobolds alive, and less than 9 minutes of time purchased.  Erdrique also got 111 epic crystallized magma shards.  During Tuesday night, I logged on with Suppply and Harrgon once again.  This dual boxing was driven by what Suppply needed which was The Snitch on elite.  I found this particular quest run interesting.  Suppply was my fain focus on Tuesday night and he came across some issues when he was fighting the named rust monster, Rusty.  I forgot that Suppply didn’t have a everbright dwarven axe and as a result he busted his two strongest axes during that particular encounter.  I need to remember to craft him an everbright axe for rust monsters.  Harrgon, as I moved him up to catch Suppply, found and defeated Thassnos the Mad.  Those were the two primary highlights of that run as the rest of the quest went on without any issues.  I called it a night after that run.

Wednesday started out with a slayer run into the Searing Heights with Suppply and Harrgon, once again.  While out there, they each gained over 50 slayers for the area.  Harrgon hit his 50 and 100 slayer marks.  They both also located the Lone Tree, Scenic Overlook, Distant View, Corridor of Lava, and the Water Cave.  They also encountered Itharn Ushu, Shute Rugzen, and Guck.  In the afternoon, Hamllin ran the challenge Lava Caves: Time is Money once again and completed the following star objectives: collect 100 crystals, keep all kobolds alive, and purchase less than 9 minutes of time.  Hammlin was awarded 170 crystallized magma shards.  That was the end of my quest runs for Wednesday as the rest of the night was devoted to date night.

I closed the week out on Thursday by taking Wapoyei (Level 24 Cleric/Divine Crusader) into the High Road.  While out there, Wapoyei collected 21 slayers and completed the random encounters for Theodas Riverun, Oakarm, and Falsifax.  I failed to help Dia identify her trinket and I couldn’t seem to find the Rebels random encounter although it was showing up on my map.  In the afternoon, I logged on with Erdrique and completed another run of the Epic Lava Caves: Time is Money.  He knocked out the star objectives for 100 Crystals, keep all kobolds alive, and under 9 minutes of time purchased.  It was a very quick run and he only earned 84 epic crystallized magma shards.  I then took him out into the Sands of Menechtarun for some quick slayers.  He took out another 31 gnolls and 43 undead and defeated Thumok the Mad.  Erdrique also picked up the last of his explorer points out there, the gnoll camp.  My quest run that night was also in the desert but it was with Kolll (Level 22 Ranger/Shiradi Champion).  Kolll worked on Against the Demon Queen on epic hard.  His puzzle sequence was  Poisoner, Mockery, Hungry, Devious, Night, and Grasping.  Using the DDOWiki mapping sequence, I was able to make my way through the various rooms without too much of a problem.  While Kolll was making his way through the quest he picked up the monster manual deeds exterminator I for troglodytes, efreeti exterminator I, and efreeti hunter deed.  Now this was the first time I have tried Against the Demon Queen on epic hard and I was quite surprised to see the pockets of Mordakein’s Disjunction on the entrance ramp.  I wasn’t expecting that and found myself with equipment that had their effects removed more than once.  Talk about annoying.  When the quest was done, I had gathered 47 Fragments of the Token of the Twelve, a complete Token of the Twelve, a scroll of the Mummy Wrappings, and 21 mysterious fragments.  Kolll did get killed but I still completed the quest :).

Looking back, it was definitely a different week.  I did dual box quite a bit, especially with Harrgon and Suppply.  Overall, it was a fun week and I’m looking forward to this weekend.  The Risia Ice Games have been out for a week and I haven’t done any coin jumping yet.  That needs to be rectified this weekend!!  Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!!
